You are able to connect an AcuRite Access to Weather Underground through the Access's Splash Page. To access the Splash Page please follow the steps below.
Accessing the Access Splash Page Using An Internet Service Provider App:
The steps below are for those who have an Internet Service Provider that has an app where you can check information for your router. Please note that the app images are just samples and may not look like the app you are using as each app looks different. If you are not sure how to find the screen shown in the steps you may need to reach out to your internet service provider for assistance.
- Open your Internet Service Provider's App
- Look for something that says Services/ Devices/ ect. If you do not see something like this you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider to confirm where you would find something similar to "DHCP List", "Client List", or "Device List"
- Look for something similar to Devices, Devices on Network, ect. and an option similar to Manage or View that you can tap on to view the devices that are currently on your network.
- Look for the AcuRite Access in your devices list. It may say something similar to AcuRite Weather Station, or it may show all or part of the 12 digit Device ID on the bottom of the Access in the name. You may be able to tap on this device which will pull up more details.
- Look for an option that says Details, or something similar. You may need to scroll down to find this information as well. This depends entirely on the Internet Service Provider you are using and how their app functions.
- Once you have found the details for the Access Device look for the IP Address assigned to the Access and write it down. You will need this in the next step.
- Open a Web Browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, ect.)
- In your web browser's URL bar, now enter the IP address assigned to your Access, then press Enter on your keyboard. This will bring you to the splash page for the Access.
- You should now see the following page. Once there enter your Weather Underground Station ID and Station KEY(Not the Weather Underground Password) In the Weather Underground Boxes.
- Under the Sensor List at the bottom of the page look for the sensor you want to have send data to Weather Underground and add the ID into the Weather Underground Device Box.
- Tap the Save & Reset button on the screen once the Weather Underground Boxes are filled out.
- You should see a page that says Please wait while the AcuRite Access restarts in -- seconds.
- Once the Access has been reset you will be taken back to the previous page where you entered the information. You may not see any sensors in the sensor list. Wait a minute or so and refresh the page then the sensors will reappear.
- Close out of the Access Splash Page. The Station will come online on Weather Underground. If you do not see it online on Weather Underground after 5 minutes, please wait an additional 30 minutes and check again as we do see it may take up to 30 minutes for the station to come online on Weather Underground.
Accessing the Access Splash Page Using A Web Browser:
While most Internet Service Providers now offer access to router information through the use of an app, some may require you to access the router information through an Internet Browser on a computer. The steps below are specifically for accessing the router using an Internet Browser.
- Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, etc.).
- Enter your router address in the URL bar. The default address for many routers is 192.168.1.1 -once you have entered this, press Enter on your keyboard. (If this is not your default address, consult your router's manual for the correct address or search the internet for the router address of the make and model of your internet router.)
- You may be prompted to enter login information. This Username and Password may be found on your router itself, in the manual, or by performing a search for the default login of the make and model of your router.
- Most routers are different. Once logged in, look for something similar to "DHCP List" or "Client List". These lists should contain the Device ID addresses and assigned IP addresses to any devices connected to your router.
- Locate the Device ID address that matches your Access's Device ID address exactly. This address will always start with 24:C8:6E.
- Next to the Access's Device ID address, you should see the assigned IP address. Write this IP address down.
