Connecting AcuRite Legacy Direct to Wi-Fi Displays to Weather Underground

Follow

The Legacy AcuRite Iris 5 in 1 or Atlas 7 in 1 Direct to Wi-Fi and PC Connect Displays are able to send data online to Weather Underground without the use of a Pass Key due to their internal Wi-Fi Setup Page. This article will cover how to set each Connection Device up to stream data to Weather Underground.

Connecting a Legacy AcuRite Iris or Atlas Direct to Wi-Fi Display To Weather Underground

  1. On the AcuRite Iris LCD Displays, press and release the GEAR or SET button on the bottom of the display. On the AcuRite Iris 06101M or AcuRite Atlas 06099M Displays access the Main Menu and navigate to Connections then to Wi-Fi Setup. This will activate the AcuRite Display Network for 30 minutes.

  2. On a smartphone (recommended), tablet, or Wi-Fi-enabled computer, open the network tab and click on the AcuRite Wi-Fi Display Model Number.
NOTE: The network tab is located in the bottom right corner of your computer screen on the taskbar, as shown below. If using a smartphone or tablet, you will need to access the Wi-Fi settings to view the list of available Wi-Fi networks.

  3. Press the connect button for the network that includes the Display Model Number.

NOTE: This will disconnect your computer/device from your internet and the display's network may also say No Internet, as shown below.

  4.  Open an internet browser and type 192.168.4.1 in the URL and press enter.
NOTE: Please make sure that you are near your AcuRite display unit for the strongest connection during the following steps.

NOTE: If you are unable to open the AcuRite Wi-Fi display settings website after connecting to the display, disconnect from the display under the network tab, open a different internet browser, enter The IP address 192.168.4.1 into the URL but DO NOT PRESS ENTER. Connect to the display under the network tab and wait 20 seconds before clicking enter on the internet browser with the IP address entered.

NOTE: If you receive an error stating that "This site can't be reached" before the AcuRite Wi-Fi display settings website (internal page) is open, please make sure that you are still connected to the AcuRite display's Wi-Fi and not your home Wi-Fi network. If your device automatically reconnected to your home Wi-Fi network before you were able to reach the AcuRite Wi-Fi display settings website, please have your device forget your home Wi-Fi network so that it will stay connected to the AcuRite display's Wi-Fi.

  6. You will see a page that says "Please Wait While Settings Are Being Updated - This May Take Few Minutes." Once settings are updated you should be taken back to the previous page, however you should see a Success message on the screen.

  7. Once you see the success message close out of the Wi-Fi Setup page and wait 5 minutes then check and see if your device is online on Weather Underground. If the device is still not online on Weather Underground please wait 30 minutes. We do see it may take up to 30 minutes for stations to come online on the Weather Underground website.
