The direction from which the wind originates is how Wind direction is traditionally reported. Wind direction can be displayed in cardinal (compass) directions or degrees. Wind blowing from the North is reported as 0° (360°), while wind blowing from the South is reported as 180°, and so on. 

AcuRite products display the current wind direction as the direction that the wind is blowing FROM. The wind vane will be oriented and read as shown below, assuming the solar panel(s) on the sensor face South.
