AcuRite® Optimus Weather Station Wi-Fi Setup

The AcuRite Optimus Weather Station features an all-new Wi-Fi setup process utilizing Bluetooth to connect your weather station online quickly and easily. Download the AcuRite NOW app and follow the on-screen instructions, as shown below.

NOTE: The following steps are intended for use with the AcuRite Optimus Wi-Fi HD Display model #06188M, the AcuRite Optimus Wi-Fi LCD Black Display Model #06189M and the AcuRite Optimus Wi-Fi Sportsman Display Model #06190M

 

Before you begin:

  • Pair the sensor and the display per the included instructions. Confirm the display is maintaining 4 bars of signal strength and is receiving current data. Then, find a suitable place to mount the outdoor sensor.
  • Please make sure that the display's antenna is in the upright position.
  • Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device so it can discover the Optimus Weather Station.
  • Make sure DHCP is enabled on your router. Most routers have DHCP enabled by default.
  • Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz network. The weather station display is equipped with a Wi-Fi module that only supports 2.4 GHz wireless networks.
  • Have your Wi-Fi network's SSID (name) and Password ready. These are case-sensitive.

 

To connect your display to your Wi-Fi:

  1. Download the AcuRite NOW app. Search the Google Play or Apple App Store for the AcuRite NOW app and install it on your mobile device.

  2. Login or Sign Up. Create an account if you do not have one yet or sign into your existing account.

  3. Add a Device. Tap the "+" in the upper right corner and select Add Device.

  4. Enable Bluetooth. If you haven't already done so, the app will ask you to turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device. Tap "Turn on now" to enable Bluetooth from the AcuRite NOW app.

    NOTE: If your display unit has been powered on for more than 30 minutes, you will need to reactivate the "pairing mode". Please press the MENU button, select Connections, and select Wi-Fi Setup on the High Definition display, or press and release the SET/GEAR button on the front of the LCD displays. This will enable the "pairing mode" for an additional 30 minutes. 
     

  5. Wait for the app to discover your device. This may take a couple of minutes. Once your device has discovered the Optimus Weather Station, you will see an image of the Optimus sensor and a blue Add button. Tap the blue Add button.

  6. You will then be prompted to select your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password to allow the display to stream data online. Tap Next to confirm your Wi-Fi credentials.

  7. Once the Optimus has been added successfully, tap Done.

  8. Your Optimus Weather Station is now successfully connected to the AcuRite NOW app, so you can view your Optimus sensor data at a glance from anywhere!
