Manage Your Alert Contacts

From Alert Contacts you can manage how you and others are notified when an alert is activated. Once you have created your alert contacts, the contacts can be added to your alerts.

If you want your friends and family to receive alert notifications, simply add them as a contact and assign their contact to the alert. They do not need a My AcuRite® account to receive email or text notifications.

 

Alert Contact guidelines

Be sure to set the Default Contact - when you create a new Custom Alert, the Default Contact is automatically added to the Alert. For example, if you want to receive all of your alert notifications to a specific email address, set the contact as your Default Contact. By default, all System Alert notifications are sent to your Default Contact.

Do you want to receive both email and text notifications? - create two contacts, one with your email address and one with your mobile phone number for text messages.

Need to change your email address or phone number? - simply change it from the alert contact and the update is applied to all of the Alerts assigned to the contact.

 

NOTE: Push Notifications from the My AcuRite® app are enabled directly in an Alert.

 

My AcuRite® app: How to create an alert contact

  1. From the tab/navigation bar, select ic_settings_black_24px.svg Settings.

  2. Select Manage Alerts.

  3. Select Contacts.

  4. Select Add Contact.

  5. Enter the Contact Name.

  6. Enter their Email address.

  7. Select Add Contact.

The contact can be added to an Alert.

 

My AcuRite® app: How to edit or delete an alert contact

  1. From the tab/navigation bar, select ic_settings_black_24px.svg Settings.

  2. Select Manage Alerts.

  3. Select Contacts.

  4. Long press to edit a contact.
  5. Swipe right to delete a contact.

  1. From the menu, select Settings > Alert Contacts.

  2. Select + Add.

  3. Select the Type - an alert notification can be sent in the form of an email message (Email) or text message to a mobile phone number (Phone).

  4. Enter a Value - for an email enter the email address the alert is to be sent to and for a text message enter the mobile phone number.

  5. Enter a Description - for information purposes only.

  6. Select Save.

The contact can be added to an Alert.

  1. From the menu, select Settings > Alert Contacts.

  2. Select Alert Contact.

  3. Select Edit.

  4. Edit the contact settings.

  5. Select Save to update.

  2. Select Alert Contact.

  3. Select Remove.
