Adding a Sensor to Your Dashboard

Follow

To add a sensor to you My AcuRite dashboard:

  1. Ensure you have a compatible AcuRite sensor within the range of your Access.
  2. Ensure you have fresh batteries in the sensor.
    1. Verify you are using fresh alkaline batteries or lithium batteries (when the temperature is below -4°F/-20°C) in the sensor.
    2. Quality brand batteries are recommended, including Duracell Coppertops (Black and copper), Rayovac, Energizer, or Kirkland.
    3. Verify batteries are fresh. The battery expiration date should be at least 6 years out. Batteries can lose 3% power or more every year in storage.
    4. Heavy-duty, extra strength or generic / store brand batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the way these types of batteries disperse power. Each battery should not exceed 1.6 volts.
    5. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the voltage instability of these types of batteries.
    6. Mixing different battery types (brands, old/new, etc.) is not recommended.
  3. Log into your My AcuRite account.
  4. Click on "Settings" in the upper right-hand corner.
  5. From the drop-down menu select Devices.
  6. Scroll down to the bottom of the devices page.  You will see a section titled "Available Sensors".
  7. In "Available Sensors" you will see your sensor.
  8. Click "Add".
  9. On the box that pops up, you can edit the "Device Name" to the location of the sensor. You can also select the "Placement" as indoor or outdoor.  Indoor will give you temperature and humidity, Outdoor will give you the temperature, humidity and dew point.
  10. Click the green "Save" button in the upper right-hand corner.  The sensor is now added to your dashboard.  NOTE:  It may take a few moments for data to start showing once you have added it.
