Yet Another Dark SmartHub

OK, so I have a new 5-1 system which included Hub (09150M) put into service on 12/25/17, plugged it in and went through setup. After the activate button push, the blue leds went dark and I've never seen them again. I have gone through all the workarounds on this Forum such as powering down, holding the activate button for 10 and 20 seconds, resetting the router, etc., etc.

NOTE: THE HUB IS COMMUNICATING WITH THE 5-1 SENSOR (06014) JUST FINE AND I CAN ACCESS THE DATA THROUGH MYACURITE

The splash page shows signal level of 2, APP v224, BOOT v210

Seems like a defective hub to me but I'm open to suggestions to get the leds working - please!

Do you have a "toggle LED's" button on the hub access screen?  Should be right below the APP and BOOT version.

Nope - that would be an easy fix. Does this imply I'm missing a firmware update??

Well. decided to repeat the reset process one more time and achieved success. The one that worked was remove the ethernet cable from the route and the hub, remove power from the hub, waited about 10 minutes, reconnected ethernet to the router and hub, reapplied power to the hub, waited until DHCP was completed, held down the activate button for a full minute. Good to see the leds again and good not to have to return the hub.

Glad you got it going.  I am curious about your BOOT version since this one here is version 104.  APP is the same.  Thought these devices were supposed to auto update?  Won't rock the boat too much since it has worked fine for two years now. Does anyone know what enhancements or changes BOOT v210 has over V104?

If you hold in the activation button too long, it toggles the lights off.  It's an undocumented "feature" for those who can't stand the lights  (they were much more annoying on the older bridges).

If you want to reverse the process, hold the button in again for about the same time, and they should come back on.

If you toggle the lights this way, you'll need to set up your wunderground information again.  You can do this by removing your wunderground account info from myAcurite, then re-enter it.  This will cause myAcurite to reload your wunderground information on the SmartHUB.

yeah, kind of figured that out when I first tried it. However, it wouldn't toggle at all regardless of how long the button was held. Oddly/luckily enough it worked this try. Thanks for taking the time to reply...

Hello Ken,

What is the model number of your weather station display? There are some displays where the backlight can be turned off. Once you confirm the model number of the display I can tell you if yours has this functionality.

Hi Jennifer and thanks for the reply.
I have two new displays - 06025 & 06016.

Obviously the 06016 doesn't show anything with the power supply disconnected. However, the 06025 is fine without the PS connected. Would you know how long I would expect the batteries to last in this mode?

Thanks again!

Hello Ken,

It would depend on how often you used the backlight on the display. It would be hard to say. I would estimate 6-8 months.

Thanks Jennifer

Sorry, I didn't ask the question clearly but, your answer gives me an idea of what to expect. Actually, I will never use the backlight and will operate the display in reflective mode only. Luckily it seems to function with a higher total viewing angle in this mode which allows me to place it above eye height on the wall.
Thanks for all your help!
