Harry what model number system do you have, the 5 in 1 is ok out in the winter but I think the other rain gauges say to cover or bring in in freezing temperatures.

Hello Harry,

The 5n1 sensor should be fine in cold conditions. We are located in Wisconsin and get cold winters as well. We keep our stations out all year. You can lightly spray the sensor with WD40 so that snow does not build up on the sensor. You can also cover the rain gauge so that when the snow does melt it doesn't register rain when there is none. Some customers have used plastic wrap to prevent incorrect readings. Please let us know if we can further assist you. Enjoy your day!
