why is it always a full degree no a decimal, cant it be like 24.5

Scott are talking about on the dashboard or the display. You can get decimals on the dashboard. Go to settings / devices / display units. At least that's how it works for imperial units.

on my display! both indoor and out door are always in full numbers

This is how this display is designed to show data.  Ledrak is correct, if you choose to use the PC Connect function on the display you can view your temperature to the tenth degree on myAcuRite.com.  Thank you.
