Why are my readings different on Weather Underground versus My AcuRite?

Have had my AcuRite Pro Weather Center and SmartHub (device ID 24:C8:6E:08:3A:9C) two weeks.  I've also shared my data on Weather Underground (Weather Station ID: KGAMARIE67).  The readings on my home display is consistent with the MyAcurite App, however, I consistently notice that Weather Underground reflects different temperatures and humidity readings.  Sometimes the temperature if off by 5 or more degrees.

I thought Weather Underground is using the data supplied from my sensor/SmartHub so wondering why there always seems to be a difference in the readings.

Appreciate any insight.

Have you calibrated your temperature sensor?  Weather Underground does not reflect any calibrations you may have made.

No, have made not made any calibration to my temperature sensor.  Using it just as it was received.

Thanks Jennifer.....I've updated My AcuRite Account to reflect the proper Weather Underground station ID.  However, I'm still noticing differences on Weather Underground vs My AcuRite in temprature and humidty readings.  Specifically higher tempratures in the morning and lower humidity readings throughout the day.  Since I'm sharing data from my sensor, I would expect readings to be more consistent.  Appreciate any additional insight or suggestions.

Hello Jeff,

We were able to look at your My AcuRite and Weather Underground account, and they are both similar in readings.  My AcuRite does update every 5 minutes, and Weather Underground updates about every 32 seconds. It is 9:20am your time, and it shows 73 degrees, 98% humidity. At 9:16 on Weather Underground it reads 73.5 for temperature, and 98% humidity.

Thanks Jennifer, much appreciated.  That helps explain some of the variation with temperature and humidity.  Do have another question regarding rain fall I would appreciate your insight on... At 2:00pm EST on 8/7 all rain fall had ended.  After about 20 plus minutes Weather Underground reflects .89 inch and My AcuRite reflects 1.0 inch.  What could be causing the difference in the rainfall readings, especially after that amount of time?  Appreciate any additional insights.

Hello Jeff,

There could be different reasons as to why it missed the rainfall. I show for the 7th on My AcuRite your rain reads 1.75 and on Wunderground it reads 1.69. This could be due to when the readings were sent to Wunderground there was a reading that was missed so it did not register that rainfall, or vice versa.

thanks Jennifer for looking into this and the further insight.  Seems like there will always be some slight differences between what MyAcuRite shows versus Weather Underground.  Certainly not a big deal, just helpful to understand what some of the causes could be.
