What firmware should my internet bridge have?  Presently it has Application Version 126, and Boot Firmware Version 006.  If I should have a newer firmware version how can I get it?

The firmware updates automatically over the Internet.  There's no user involvement.

Typically the latest firmware downloads (if necessary) when you first set up your bridge.  I haven't seen the application version change in quite a while.  126 is current.  I'm guessing it won't change again until Acurite makes changes to the AcuLink protocol.

The boot firmware is another story.  I'm not sure if that ever gets updated.  People seem to have either 104 or 006, but there doesn't seem to be a functional difference between the two.

Thanks for the info George.  Wish Acurite would directly address the firmware questions.  Seems like a lot of people have asked but never got a solid response from company.

Hi Brad,

George is correct. The firmware will update automatically for the bridge so you will not have to do so manually. Have a great day!

Have a new out of the box SmartHUB as of yesterday.

Initially, it came with Application Version 210, Boot Version 210.
After it upgraded itself I have Application Version 224, Boot Version 210.

So far, <24 hours, it all seems to be working, except there are no blue lights.

Hello Robert,

The lights are different on the new SmartHUB. The network status light will flash 1 second each time a reading is sent, and the sensor status light will stay solid. Thank you. Have a good day!

Jennifer,

Sorry to disagree but both of the blue lights on my SmartHUB are consistently dark, the network light does not flash and the sensor light is not on.

As stated, the hub is now running 224/210 firmware and is otherwise working correctly including rapid fire updates to WU with no drop outs in last 36+ hours. Note that before the Application Version updated itself from 210 to 224 I did see both of the LEDs light so it's not a hardware issue.

Hi Robert,

Its possible that you turned your lights off on the smartHUB.  You can turn them back on by pressing and holding the Activate button on the bottom of the smartHUB for no more than 10 seconds.  If your lights do not come back on, please let us now.  Have a great day!

Hi Jennifer,

I tried your suggestion this morning, still no blue lights. Actually tried it twice about about 15 minutes apart. Pushed and held button about 5 seconds each time. Also tried a power off reset, i.e. both power and network cables disconnected for two minutes.

Happily the SmartHUB is still working on the network, updating to My AcuRite and WU. Just no blue.

I understand that earlier versions of firmware showed a toggle lights button on the status page. Any chance the hub will still respond to that query? How would that be formatted?

Hi Robert,

You may want to try holding it down longer than 5 seconds.  Holding it for 10 seconds should toggle them off.  If you have any other questions, please let us know.  Have a great day!

Hoping my fix comes soon. Purchased a 3rd smart hub last week. It has firmware 220 and for some reason refuses to register after trying every trick. Acurite support is looking into the issue. They have been very helpful.

The boot firmware cannot be updated.  Only the app firmware.

It doesn't matter what boot firmware you have.  They are all functionally equivalent.

Hello SzeCheung,

Migration from My Backyard weather to My AcuRite is now disabled. Over the next 48 hours your hub will be upgraded to work with My AcuRite. Once upgraded you will be able to create a new account on My AcuRite and register your device. Thank you. Have a great day!

My smarthub is bricked after the new firmware. I have tried every troubleshooting suggestion on this sight. Currently, no lights on the smarthub and no network activity. I try to add a device to the acurite application and I get the device must be registered before reporting data. I have held the button on the bottom for 10 seconds or longer still no lights.

How/where do you go to see what version of firmware is running on the smart hub?  I have an issue where the smart hub stops sending data to the Internet and I know with out a fact it is not a network of Internet issue.  Thanks, Bob

Hello Bob,

You can view what firmware version you have by the looking at the splash page.  To get to the splash page follow the instructions listed below. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you.

1.Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, etc.).
2.Enter your router address in the URL bar. The default address for many routers is 192.168.1.1 --once you have entered this, press Enter on your keyboard. (If this is not your default address, consult your router's manual for the correct address.)
3.Most routers are different. Look for something similar to "DHCP List" or "Client List". These lists should contain the MAC addresses and assigned IP addresses to any devices connected to your router.
4.Locate the MAC address that matches your Bridge's MAC address exactly. This address will always start with 24:C8:6E
  5. Next to the Bridge's MAC address, you should see the assigned IP address. Write this IP address down.
      6. In your web browser's URL bar, now enter the IP address assigned to your Bridge, then press Enter on your keyboard
