what do 5 in 1 station owners do to protect and try to lengthen the life of thier unit?

I spray a little wd40 on a q-tip and wipe the battery contacts with it when I install new batteries.

I always suggest folks mount their 5n1 unit 5 or 6 feet off the ground where they can get to it for easy maintenance.

That may seem counter-intuitive, since many want their units mounted up high for better wind catch, but lower to the ground you actually get better temp/humidity and rain readings.... plus it's a lot safer since you don't have to worry about falling off the roof!
