Woke up several limes during the night , lulled back to sleep by he sound of rain on the tin roof of my woodshed. When I got up this morning , MyAcurite reports 0 rain for the day and the same, 0 for the week. There are no error messages and by base station is accurately reporting and recording the rain fall. This seems to only me affecting the data for rainfall on the 5 in one, the other data is being sent and logged  as well as that from my two other sensors. I only have one question, HUH?????????

you could have spider webs or something else that prevents the rain gauge teeter totter from moving. you could first manually pour a quarter cup of water and see if water comes out bottom and you hear a clicking sound of the teeter totter. no sound indicates problem. take apart 5in1 and determine what prevents gauge from working.

If I am reading T0G's post correctly, his tipping cups are working OK. His display is reading properly, and MyAcuRite is not, but only for rain. Strange.

T0G,

Are you seeing wind direction data? Maybe best to check on WU for that.
I ask because the 5n1 sends out bursts of data such that wind speed, wind direction, and bucket tips are in one burst, and wind speed, temperature, and RH% follow in the next burst. If your hub is not seeing the first burst in that cycle, both bucket tips and wind direction will be lost.

it appears that speed and direction are being reported to WU. I really don't get it.

well then, that was interesting, I unplugged the power on the smart hub for 20 minutes and myAcurite was still showing the  sensors as being online and having power.

I just removed the device from myAcurite, then re-added it....if I keep picking at it I bet I can really screw something up!

Removing and re-adding seems to have done the trick, it is now uploading rainfall

Glad that worked, but scratching my head and wishing I understood why it worked. I might see it for hub-to-MyAcuRite transmissions, but it appears that your remove/re-add fixed the path to WU as well? I wonder if a remove/re-add forces a hub to re-find a sensor and re-sync. Or maybe your re-boot of the hub did it.

Hello Touch0Gray,

We are glad to hear you were able to get it transmitting with the rain again. We do show that today as of right now there is 1.68 inches of rain registered. Please let us know if there is anything we can assist you with.
