Weird barometer issues on Weather Underground

My barometer readings had been great for the first week of installing my weather station. Now I am seeing weird dips on WU that are about .10 too low. Notice around 3pm where it took a dip and it has stayed there. Now my unit is reading around .10 off, when it had been spot on with local NWS stations. Any idea as to what is happening?

SmartHub/Access or PC Connect?

If you have both, make sure PC Connect isn't trying to report to wunderground, too.

Just the SmartHub.

I'd sit tight and see what happens with your graph and to see if wunderground really stabilizes (it's been problematic for the past week, but things seem to be getting better now).

Wuderground does have this "auto-adjustment" feature where they apply their own pressure adjustment if they think yours isn't close enough.  Sometimes when it kicks in it does that funny dance, but then stabilizes.

Do you have the SmartHUB set for sending station pressure or "adjusted".  If "adjusted", does the elevation they have for you seem correct?

I have it set to adjusted. The elevation looks good. It may have to do with the shenanigans of WU because like I said, the first week it was spot on with no issues whatsoever. I will give it a few days and see what happens. Thanks!

As a follow up, I think it is something with the Hub. The data on both MyAccurite and WU are about .11 to .12 off from nearby official obs. Not sure what happened for it to go from spot on accurate to consistently being off .1 or so. What is also weird is that in the rapid fire updates on WU, I will monitor it for a few minutes and see a pressure reading that comes in and looks accurate, then the next update it gets knocked down by the amount I described above. Could there be something wrong with the Hub?

Sounds more like wunderground is trying to apply their own adjustment.  It's a known bug.  If it doesn't resolve itself, you may have to request wunderground to remove their adjustment from your station.

Hello Jason B,

Are you still getting the low readings? George is correct Weather Underground will sometimes make an adjustment of your pressure readings.

Hi Jennifer. I recently installed the new Access and things seem to be going better. My Access is reading very close to nearby observations, while my SmartHub is actually reading low. It's weird because the SmartHub initially was doing real well. I'm going to keep a close eye on things since I have had the Access only runny for a short time.

Hello Jason B,

I am viewing your account right now. I can see that the Bay Branch Villas is reading 30.20. The BB Villa is reading 30.10, and the pressure on Weather Underground is reading 30.19. What do you think the readings should be showing?

Hi Jennifer. The Bay Branch Villas is the new Access and is now the one reporting to Weather Underground. I believe that is the correct reading as it matches very close to a nearby NWS ASOS. The BB Villa is the SmartHub. It consistently reports around .1 too low. I am happy with the new Access for the couple of weeks I have had it.

Hello Jason B,

We can see that on the 2 different devices there are 2 different elevations entered. We would recommend if the devices are in the same location to have the same elevation as this will affect the pressure reading. Please let us know if there is anything further we can assist you with.
