Two Month Old 3 in 1 Pro Weather Station = Screen Cracked in 110 Degree Heat

I have a two month old '3 in 1 Pro Weather Station'. Has worked great (like our other Acurite products) for the 60 days we had it.

Last week, we had the display screen sitting on the kitchen counter (not in direct sunlight) in our RV trailer. We were in the desert and the interior of our trailer got up to 110 degrees.

When we left our trailer, the display was normal. When we returned a few hours later, the display had a slight crack across the screen and a 1" x 3" dark spot on the screen.

The display has NEVER been abused, dropped, misused or damaged in any way.

Since the display is only two months old and the damage was most likely a manufacturing defect, would this be a warranty repair?

Hello Dave,

Can you please provide us with a picture of the display unit showing the crack?  We use this in our review process for the warranty.  Thank you.

Thank you for your response,

Here's three photographs of the display issue.

The 'crack' line is visible from the dark area to the bottom-right corner. The dark area emanates from the top & bottom of the crack, as it continues across the display.

The display cover itself is not cracked / damaged, the crack in inside the outer exterior display plastic covering.

Hello Dave,

We are sorry this happened to you. We did reach out to our quality team regarding your display, and the pictures. Through their testing they were not able to replicate this problem in the past.  I know you stated that the display was never abused, but did the display tip over in the RV? Was the RV moving at this time? At this time seeing as this has not been able to be replicated with testing we would not be able to offer warranty coverage.

The display has never tipped over, has no exterior damage and no, the RV was not moving. If this was damage caused my us, we would have stepped up and replaced the unit.

It's my opinion the display had a manufacturing defect and the ambient heat caused the defect to grow further.

Question: How can a test be replicated on a unit's defect?
