Tired of restoring to factory specs

I am getting tired of pulling the batteries and restoring to factory specs every 3 or 4 weeks on my 01536. This has been going on for close to 6 months now and when I restore it functions perfectly for a time and then apparently freezes up again, it won't respond to sensors (5 in one and two temp/humidity (00592TXR) or any buttons on the unit ....Light, sensor, setup, NOTHING! Every time I have to set it back up I lose the data tally. (although it does allow me to upload to my computer first, but to avoid the risk of losing it all I have to copy/paste 2 to 4 weeks date into an .xlx  file and save separately. This thing is only 2 years old and has given me problems pretty much since I got it. New batteries (although it is plugged in all the time) do nothing and all the sensors report faithfully to the smart hub. What can I to to solve this problem short of replacing it (and let me assure you, I am not in the habit of replacing tools with the same kind when they have been a CONSTANT source of problems!) Calling in for support is futile, I have not seen less than a 1 hour wait time in months.

Hello Touch0Gray,
We are sorry to hear of any inconvenience you have experienced. We are happy to assist you with your display. Please verify you are using the battery recommendations and try the troubleshooting steps listed below. If the issue continues, we would recommend replacing the display. When and where was this purchased? Thank you.

The following instructions should help resolve any issues you are having with your display.

To do a pinhole reset: (THIS WILL CLEAR ALL OF YOUR HISTORY AND YOUR SETTINGS)

Please verify that you are using a name brand (Rayovac or Energizer) standard alkaline batteries in the display unit. We do not recommend using anything that is heavy duty, rechargeable, store brand or Lithium inside of the display.

- Remove all power, AC adapter and batteries from the display unit.
- Press and hold down the pin hole reset button, located in the battery compartment, for 20 seconds.
- Plug back into AC power and insert recommended batteries.
- Press and hold down the pin hole reset button for an additional 20 seconds.
- Verify that the unit has powered on and once connection has been made, attempt to set time and date.

Been there done that so many times, using Dura Cell, unit is ALWAYS powered by the adapter as well. After a full reset, it works great for weeks, occasionally a month or two, but then loses it again and I have to do a full reset again. The last full reset (the day I posted that, 2 weeks ago), it was fine for a few days, then the two temp/humidity sensors, even though the were being acknowledged, never changed tbe reading on the base. Then, a couple of days later, it started posting their data again. I am seriously frustrated. For the past week, it has been fine?

AND..... today one of the sensors is stuck on 33 in spit of the fact that it is over 65 degrees in my shop. Interestingly enough, my smartHub has been working flawlessly.
