Temperature Reading is Choppy

The temperature reading on Wunderground is looking like a broken up dashed line.   My connectivity is fine.  Saddness.   On a good note, it appears the code for the rain guage problem has been fixed.  Only 3+ months of dissatisfaction.

Sorry to learn that I am not alone with this frustrating problem.  Is this nation wide on their system or just local?  I am in No. Ca.

I think it is system wide.  I've been having gaps for several weeks now and I am in South Carolina.  Hope we get it resolved soon!

I have noticed a similar issue with temp and dew point graphs for the past several days.

I am seeing the same thing.  It started a few days ago, and there are no reports of connectivity loss, and the other graphs are unbroken.

These are WU server issues

Based on what information?

Observation of loading time on pages from WU. The blanks are periods where they are not receiving data to their graphing software......Since data from bridges is going out consistent from weather stations directly to WU, that puts the problem on the WU side of the fences. If graphing software has gaps like this, by deduction that part inside of WU would appear to be working. So data gear that receives the weather data is either acting up, or is having an overloaded pipeline to get the data to the graphing software. Considering that attempting to view WU pages has been agonizingly slow the past week it would appear that they have had reduced processing gear online ......This could be from upgrades in process or equipment failure. The likely hood of an attack on their servers is unlikely as the hiccups in data are uniform.

I've had the same problem for the past 3 days now. If you switch from Graph mode to Table mode, you will see most entries are missing from the data set at each temperature gap.

Watching the SmartHub, it appears that it is taking a long time to report data to WU. The network status light goes off for about a minute. Then comes back on. At the same time, the green network light on the back of the hub goes out briefly. Not sure if this is a reboot. Every other time the network light goes out, it is out briefly as normal.

Hello All,

By watching account behaviors through the weekend we have found that there appears to be a communication issue between My AcuRite and WU, we are working to determine where the exactly the issue lies and how we can quickly implement a fix.  The message coming back from WU is causing some user's hubs to reset which is why you are seeing different behavior from some of your hubs.

Thank you for the info, I am having the same problem. You are welcome to view my site (Ranch Garage) which is having the same problem. I have narrowed the problem down to irregular temperature-humidity update intervals on the 5-in-1 device which is sharing data with the WU. All of the other sensors on that 5-in-1 are reporting in the correct interval. (my wind direction is currently stationary due to snow buildup)  The problem on my site started the morning of March 1st and the temperature-humidity update interval has been consistently, inconsistent ever since. My second 5-in-1 sensor (Bar-RR Residence) which is not sharing with the WU, has been updating consistently on a 5 minute interval during the same time period. When I quit sharing with WU (from 8:27 to 8:56 this morning) the temperature-humidity sensor updates correctly every 5 minutes. Hope this helps identify the problem.   RK

I hope the reset issue is not a security opening for hackers. This could be a major issue if the link to WU from the bridge is not a secure connection (https). If WU can upset the bridge hackers would have a hay day.

Hello All,

We do have an update. Since the Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage last week, some users have been experiencing gaps in temperature and humidity on both My AcuRite and Weather Underground. Initially we found that disabling sharing to Weather Underground alleviates the gaps on My AcuRite, however, these gaps return to both My AcuRite and Weather Underground once sharing is enabled again. As we continued our investigation, we identified an issue with how Weather Underground is closing connection after we upload data. We are working closely with Weather Underground’s development team to correct the issue. While we expect resolution to this issue soon, will keep you posted as additional information becomes available.
