Temperature Accuracy Backyard Weather Thermometer

Just purchased the Backyard Weather Thermometer, Model 00826.  I set up the sensor and monitor and have had them BOTH in our kitchen on the table for several hours.  I assume they should show the same temp for both inside and outside temp, since they are both inside side by side.  Yet the two temps differ by 6-7 deg F.  Anyone else see this?  I assume there is something wrong.  Comments?  Thoughts?

Hello Kenneth,

When you set them side by side you want to leave them for 30 minutes without touching them. Compare the readings after the 30 minutes and they should be within 4 degrees of each other.   Make sure you are using a fresh quality alkaline battery such as Rayovac, Energizer, Duracell or Kirkland.  We would recommend removing the batteries from both the display and sensor for about 2 minutes. After the 2 minutes put the battery in the sensor first, then the display, and let them sit for the 30 minutes. Compare the readings after the 30 minutes.
