Temp alarm email or txt message from sensor via smarthub

Does there exist a remote acurite temp sensor that can activate an email notification? I know the 5-1 weather station has this capability but I want to be notified if one of my remote temp sensors hits a defined temp. I’ve search the products but cannot find any other device that has this functionality. Thank you, Brian

You would need to get a Smarthub and a remote sensor.  Just make sure the sensor you want is listed as Samrthub capable. There are several kits on the Acurite site that have different combinations of sensors.  The only issue is that Acurite appears to still be out of any kit that contains a Smarthub.

Hi Sir MAK,
All research so far does not show the ability of alerts to email to txt on any sensor via smarthub...at least I’ve not found a means and since I have a 5-1, smarthub, and 4 remote sensors (3 of the basic sensors and one with fixed probe). I’ve configured the 5-1 to enable alerts to my email. Besides the 5-1 I have not found any means to enable a remote sensor to sent email alerts. I’m almost ready to purchase a new system that will perform temp/humidity alerts so if I’m missing something please let me know...
Regards, Brian

If the sensor you are wanting the alert for is showing up in the My Acurite app or wep site then you should be able to select that sensor for alerting.  The MyAcurite web site has a drop down box to select the sensor when you are setting up the alert.  For Apple after you select what you want to alert on (temp, wind, humidity) you will get the Alert setting page.  It will default to the one of the sensors, just touch on that sensors name and you should get the list of all your sensors at the bottom of the screen.  I am not sure with the android app how to set it up as I never done it there.

Hello OLP,

You can set up a notification via My AcuRite for the temperature & humidity sensor just like you can on the 5n1.  You would go to settings>Alert Rules>Add> and then select the sensor you want to set up the rule for, and what the rule is.
