My glass globe barometer seemed to be responding properly till the air pressure went pretty high one day . The liquid level in the curved tube nearly overflowed and then stayed that high even after ambient pressure went back down. Should take fluid out of the arm or from the inside of the globe?

Hello Thomas,

A low water level in the spout indicates HIGH pressure, and fair weather can be expected. A high water level in the spout indicates LOW pressure, and precipitation can be expected. In cases of severe weather or major storms the water may even run out of the spout. Did you have storms the day your Storm Glass over flowed? If this issue continues, we would recommend completely restarting the set up on the storm glass. I have provided a link to the manual below for your convenience. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you.
