Smarthub stops reporting daily and has weak signal

It seems daily that my smarthub stops reporting then starts back some time later.  It has a weak signal.  I can have my display connected via pc connect right next to the smart hub and it gets great signal but the smart hub does not.  PC Connect is green, smart hub yellow or red when I go to Myaccurite.com   Is there a way to boost the signal reception?   Thank you!

Followup, I do not run them both at the same time.  Just to check strength time to time.

Recently I talked to customer support at Acurite with a similar question.  I asked why do I have full scale reading of signal strength on my colour display and a weak signal on my hub. Their answer was:

#1 the reading on the colour display is a counting of digital communication packets and not really strength of signal.

#2 the signal strength on the hub (measured on the myacurite dashboard web page) is actually the signal strength of the radio transmission.  The frequency is around 430 MHz if I remember correctly and the service rep told me several interesting facts about location of the hub.  Argon filled glass can block the signal (who knew?) Line of sight is important.  A wood wall may pass the signal better than glass. Other radio waves could interfere, like in my case wireless alarm system etc.

The main take away from my conversation is that the strength indicator on the colour display is not really a measurement of signal strength.  The measurement of the hub signal strength is what you need to be concerned with.  I always have full bars on the colour display and only weak on the hub.

Thank you for the replies.  Clears some things up.  My router is in the middle of my house so I am going to have to get ethernet to an area closer to the wx station.

The ethernet power line adapters didn't work between my house and workshop.  The 2 buildings each have their own separate electrical service entrance although the same power transformer.  They just wouldn't wouldn't work.

Within the house these power line adapters work great. I could never get them to work between my house and shop though.

Thanks, I had great success on 2 different applications (myself and neighbour) with the TP Link CPE210. I am toying with the idea of blasting internet out around my farm yard so I have bullet proof internet around my yard.  My cell coverage is ok, but not great. I like to stream tunes out in the yard too without using cellular data.
