SmartHub issue with WU

I have a SmartHub with a Pro 5 in 1 sensor. It was working fantastic until about 4 days ago when it suddenly started to not post to WeatherUnderground off and on. Sometimes for only a few minutes, sometimes for hours. This will cause it to show “0” degrees or nothing on WU. It reports perfectly to AcuRite app dashboard and remote weather center. Since this started happening, I have now lost my 5 star rating with WU as an accurate site. The issue is very random. I have tried all the steps I know to mitigate. Rebooted, new cable, re-entered info on WU, to no avail. Please help. I only got this system to share weather with my neighborhood. I’m very frustrated. I have Cox internet. All is well with their service.

Thanks Adam. I’ve searched and seen the volumes of posts. Many deal with hubs that never connect. Mine is intermittent suddenly, but only the last 4 days. I’m seeing a trend from other comments on my post that WU is having major issues in general as you say.

We appreciate your patience regarding the interruption of service Weather Underground had experienced. We have communicated with Weather Underground and they have confirmed that all server issues have been corrected. If you are still not updating on Weather Underground please remove your Weather Underground credentials from My AcuRite completely and re-add them. Please DO NOT COPY AND PASTE THE CREDENTIALS. Use your Station Key as the password instead of your password for Weather Underground. Let us know if this issue continues. Thank you.

Not sure if this might be causing a problem, but Netgear did a security update on their routers the end of December.  My weather station was not transmitting to WU. Had to do a power off/on to the Netgear router, even though it appeared to be working ok

Thanks Jeffrey. I’ve done the power down/up several times over the past 4 days since problems started. Not a netgear issue it appears.

During the WU fiasco I noticed that my my WU site showed no reporting at all even though things were fine on the MyAcurite site.  After trying to restart and reboot the SmartHUB with no betterment of the situation, I deleted my WU settings from the sharing tab and then after the deletion, I added sharing again and set up the WU station id and password.  Once that was completed and saved, my WU page started showing the information that my SmartHUB was transmitting.  So the advice to delete your WU sharing and then adding it new seemed to be the fix necessary to get things going again.  Not hard to do and it's really an easy solution when WU seems to not be picking up your sensor information.

wunderground has been having problems the last few days. Today I was having problems setting up a new switch, it wasn't reporting to wunderground. Working fine now.

So I think it was them and not me. So it might not be you either, it might be wunderground

What did you do to sort it out with the Access and WU?  I keep getting a error saying my station ID is in use....

I’m noticing other sites around town that have disappeared or are offline. Im beginning to think it’s WU too. Their site is not refreshing properly in general either.

Hello James,

We show that you are transmitting with the smartHUB. Have you received the AcuRite Access yet? Once you download your 30 days of data to your computer. (If you want to save the data) You would then go to your settings and share, and then remove the Weather Underground credentials and add them back like you were adding it for the first time. Please let us know if there is anything further we can assist you with.

Wunderground is in serious distress. 

There's nothing you can do but sit and wait until they work things out.

I’m beginning to see the light George. I’ve done everything I can with the SmartHub and Ive struggled to believe it’s the problem, since the AcuRite app stays up to date and refreshes constantly as it should. Thanks for the comment.

WU has acknowledged a problem beginning around 6 days ago.  Its not an AcuRite problem since a WU support site shows problems with different branded weather stations.  As George noted, nothing you can do to fix.  You just have to wait for WU to work out their issues.  It all ties to rapid fire updates not being processed by WU.

Thanks Jack., My site just came back on line about 30 minutes ago. As did about a dozen other sites around me that i had noticed had disappeared. Lets hope they resolved their issue permanently !!

ISSUE RESOLVED AS OF 10:15AM MST.  WU GOT THEIR ISSUE RESOLVED, AT LEAST FOR NOW.

I just checked and my station pages are now updating at the proper rate.  It's 1:25 pm CST.

Same, i'm back to normal rapid fire updates at the moment. It looks like we are getting there hopefully.

Thank you Rachell for following up. I am fully functioning and have been since my post update 6 days ago. Glad it was WU and not my equipment. Whew.
