Smarthub has unknown device connected

We have a 5 in 1 weather station and 2 remote temp and humidity sensors we use on different floors in the house. When we had our first hub fail after an upgrade a curie sent a replacement. Since we received the new smart hub another remote sensor has appeared on on the acurite app. We can't find this new sensor and the temp an humidity reported by the unknown sensor does not match any readings from other devices we have . How can can we find out what this device is.

That s a good question. How far can they transmit. The nearest neighbor is about 100 feet. Also I have been monitoring the temp an humidity for awhile. The measurements from that sensor they temp goes from 11 degrees to 51 which does not match the sensors inside or out I know that are mine. But there is a restaurant about 300 yards away.

300 yards is a bit of a stretch, If your friends with the neighbor ask them if they can disable their sensor for about 1/2 hour to see if that is it i.

Hello John,

The smartHUB is able to pick up any sensor that is within a 330ft range.  If it is picking up another sensor and you do not have any other AcuRite products in the house then it may be coming from someone in the area such as a neighbor.  There is no way to find out where the sensor is coming from. Thank you. Enjoy your day!
