Sharing sensors between Acurite Display and Smarthub

I have an Acurite color display which can display info from 3 separate sensors in addition to its internal sensor. The external sensors will be "A" "B" and "C" as far as channeling.

My questions are these if I add a Smarthub in my home.

1) Will the Smarthub and Color display BOTH receive  info from the 3 external sensors?

2) If I add 3 more external sensors for the smarthub, for a total of 6 external sensors around my home, will the color display get confused since the new sensors will only have a choice of A, B or C" channels? Wil lthere be overlapping where the color display might not know which sensor to lock onto?

Both the smartHUB and display will show the 3 external sensors.  The smartHUB can handle up to 10 sensors.

I don't think the color display will keep track of 6 sensors if it depends on the A-B-C switch to keep them separate.

Seems like you pretty much have it figured out.
1.) The SmartHUB having more processing power uses a different method to distinguish between sensors than used by the simple display, i.e.. Not A-B-C. Hence it can distinguish and report data to for up to 10 sensors.
2.) Yes, your simple display will get confused by multiple sensors on the same 'channel', which aren't really channels per se but codes in the message blurb the sensor sends out.
If you want to go to six sensors I might suggest the following. Pick your favorite two, give them, channels A and B, throw the rest into channel C. The display will be confused by all the traffic on the C channel, kinda of a last in, or whose loudest deal, but the hub will sort it out ok.

So, in the end you'll have your simple display with it's internal sensor plus two other remote sensors working. The fourth channel on the display will be corrupted by overwritten data. A hub if you get one will distinguish all of your sensors and report them.

Hello Jef,

What is the model number of the weather station that you have? Thank you. Have a good day!
