Sensor not recognized

I just received my 5 in 1 Sensor model 01536 / 8900123 and after setting it all up the base does not recognize the outdoor sensor. I made sure the A B C matched on both devices and even tried all 3. I followed the manual step by step in the proper order of taking the batteries out and back in the way they said. Still does not recognize the outdoor unit. I have brand new Duracell batteries in both units. Any suggestions??

Hello Harold,

Please verify you are following the directions below in order.  Do you have the sensor next to the display when you are resetting the unit?  If the directions below do not correct the issue, please let us know. Thank you.  
Hard Reset

-Remove batteries from both units
-Change the ABC switch
-Place batteries in the sensor first, wait unit the sensor flashes
-Place batteries in the display, let the two units sit side by side until you read outdoor information
-Wait unit the units connect before placing them outside

Hi Rachell,

I called AcuRite Support and they are sending out a new outdoor sensor. Hope this fixes the issue. Will let you all know. Thanks AcuRite!!

Did you place the 5 in 1 right NEXT to display?  Most people don't do this and why it won't connect first time.

Hi Fred.Yes, I did place it right next to it. Within 6 inches. No success. Thanks for the suggestion though!
