Sensor 01500A1 Pegged at 72F; Reset and Pegged at -40F

Hi,

My 5-in-1's temperature had been pegged at 72F since yesterday morning; I reset it and now it is pegged at -40F.  I believe the temperature sensor has malfunctioned.  While I see a replacement module, I also think my 5-in-1 is the legacy version (it does not have the black box under the logo - and the logo is pretty worn).  Is this correct?

If my only option is to purchase new, could you point me to the correct new version of the sensor?  I see two different versions (Pro+ and then one that does not have that designation) and I am not certain of the difference or compatibility with my display (model 1500) and the newest version of the internet bridge (though, I suspect they are all compatible with that).

Thanks for the help,

   Jim

Jim the only difference between the pro+ and the standard 5 in 1 is the pro + has two solar panels the standard has only 1 Everything else is the same.  As far as your display and bridge / Access no problem .

Thank you. Do both new 5-in-1 sensors have the modular design now in case another sensor goes? I also want to confirm the correction here is to replace the 5-in-1 sensor.

Thanks again for your help!

Looking at your post it sounds like the temp / humid board in your 5 in 1 has gone bad and if its an older legacy unit the replacement part as Acurite says it not compatible.  It has been reported on here that if you can solder the part will fit and work, you would have to cut off the plug. So if your not into a repair then you would need to replace the whole 5 in 1. As far as if all the newer 5 in 1 sensors are compatible with the replacement part I cant say for sure you would think so but what if you get an old stock unit.   One last thing if your 5 in 1 is several years old then it may be to old to even use the replacement board the real old ones used a different sensor.

Thank you Ledrak.  I just purchased a replacement with the Pro+ online.  It has the new part numbers listed in the replacement sensor, so I am pretty sure it will be the new model.  Thank you for your help.  It is unfortunate that the sensor failed, but it has been working continuously for just under 5 years (I bought it in June 2013).

Same problem here.  Temp pegged at 78F for 36 hours.  Replaced batteries and now stuck at -40F. Have until since end of 2014.
