I have an Acurite 01518 system, which for some reason isn't one of the models listed here. Everything on it is working famously, except for one little thing. The weather predictions seem almost random. It predicts cloudy, partly cloudy, rain, heavy rain, etc. All this when we've had clear, bright sunshine for weeks. (At least it hasn't predicted snow or lightning.) I installed the unit back in mid-June, so it's gone through the learning cycle and then some. However, when setting up the station, I did not allow it to adjust the barometric pressure automatically. It was off by a substantial margin initially, so I manually calibrated it to match my own barometer and the AWOS at our airport. It has been very accurate with the barometric pressure ever since, but I wonder if my having done that (calibrated the barometer manually) might have interfered with the learning process such that it is unable to make reliable predictions. Anyone else have this problem?
