Rainfall data not reporting to Acurite website or WeatherUnderground

My 5 in 1 weather station is capturing rainfall data, we had an event last night and the indoor display shows .21" of rainfall and a ytd total of 6.20", however when I go into WeatherUnderground or the MyAcurite website, it shows 0 rainfall.  There is only one rainfall event registered on Weather Underground, on March 13rd to the 14th 2017, there is nothing past that date.  This information corresponds with the MyAcurite website.  For a while I was using Acurite PC Connect to send data, however I "upgraded" to the SmartHub on March 14th.

Hello Brad,

What time was the rainfall you experienced on the 20th. We will take a look at your account. What is the model number of your smartHUB?

Model 09150M.  Yes, rain used to register just fine on the hub, but stopped a few weeks ago.  Rain registers just fine on the display.

Replacing the smart hub fixed the issue.  I do not understand why I could not just reload the firmware on the hub.  The old one did report 1 rain event then stopped.  I replaced mine through Amazon.

My local 5 in 1 reads and remembers rain but the app never show rain and never shows the correct temperature. It only varies in temperature by about 4 degrees and that is it

Hello RLJ,

Is the rain registering on the indoor display? Can you provide us with dates and times of the rainfall so we can look at your My AcuRite account? Thank you.

Our 5in1 is doing the same thing. It reports to the indoor display but not the app or weather underground.

Hello Troy,

What is the date of the last rainfall? What did it read on the display? What is the model number of the smartHUB? Thank you.

The last date that recorded rain was 4-16-17 on the app and the last read out was .86" on 4-27-17 on the indoor display. My 5in1 station uses the bridge to send everything to the app and weather service. I do not know the smart hub model number. Everything but the rain is being reported.

Hello Troy,

Around what time was the rainfall do you remember? I can see several missed transmissions on My AcuRite which could have caused the rain to not register. Thank you.

I am having the same problem. 5-in-1 reports everything BUT the rainfall to myacurite & WU. The indoor display reports everything including the rainfall. Hub ID is 24:C8:6E:**:**:** (removed by admin due to privacy concerns) What can I do to solve this problem?

Hello Mike,

If the smartHUB is not registering rain we need to proceed with the warranty claim, and have you send this in for testing. Thank you.

What good is you sending me a new smartHUB if they don't work. Do any of them work? There's threads in this forum going back 6 months talking about this rainfall issue. Why are you still selling them to people if there's all these issues? I also don't understand why it would work initially and then stop working for rain - while maintaining the ability to send data related to wind/temp etc. I mentioned in my email that I cannot disconnect the smartHUB (and wait around for you to assess it) because the temperature data is being collected by other people. I need to keep my temperature data online. How am I supposed to do that if you need me to send the SmartHUB back?

Hello MikeC,

We do apologize for the inconvenience. I do see that you have been in contact with one of our AcuRite Loyalty representatives to get the smartHUB sent into us. This issue can typically be corrected quickly. Again we are sorry for the inconvenience and we look forward to getting this corrected for you as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Hello Tori,
As I mentioned to your customer service representative, I cannot disconnect the smarthub because the temperature information it is posting online is being used for the next 9 months as a part of a group program (it is being used as part of data collection for a post-grad study dealing with regional temperature patterns). So, that's a non-starter for me. To add insult to injury - I just received a bill from FedEX Canada for an additional $100 in handling/customs fees for the 5-in-1 and smarthub (this in addition to the $300.00 CAD I already paid for the weather station). I realize your company has nothing to do with the customs fees - but, now I am more than $400 in, with no way of getting my rain data back online.

Now  you are asking me to ship something back to you because you sold me a defective smarthub, wait around, and then have you send me a new one (after you establish that it is covered by warrant and defective). It should be covered by warranty (as its a month old) and I am telling you that it is defective (because it doesnt post rain data online - which you can also easily verify remotely by looking at my data) - SO - why can't you just send me a new part?

Unless you think I am trying to start a new business and break into the defective smartHUB black market?.

Even if I could disconnect the smarthub and send it back, the costs of shipping with FedEx to Canada could feed my family for a week....  I was very pleased with the station until this started happening, and I was planning on ordering some room monitors with water detection, but I can't keep throwing good money after bad.

I'm not sure if I should be adding to this posting or if I should create a new one, but I'm having this exact same problem -- everything but rainfall is reporting to myacurite/wunderground while my local internal monitor shows rainfall...

Hello Christian,

What is the model number of your smartHUB?  When was the last time & date you had rain registered on the display. Once we have this information we will compare it to My AcuRite.

I am also experiencing the same issue.  The last rain fall recorded was on my display was on 11/30/17 however the last time rainfall was reported on WU or on My Acurite was on 07/13/17. I have a model 09150M.  I had an issue with my Router locking up and nothing was transmitting all weekend. I reset the system and then realized this has been going on for a while.

Hello Thomas,

Please follow the troubleshooting steps listed below. Then please power cycle your smartHUB and router. To do this, you will unplug your Ethernet cable from the router then the adapter for the HUB. After this you can unplug your router. Please leave them unplugged for about 5 minutes. When you plug them back in plug the router in first and let it completely boot up, then you can plug the Ethernet cable into the router after that the adapter.  Please let us know if the issue continues. Thank you.

Clear Debris & Insects from the Rain Gauge on the 5-in-1 Sensor •Watch the video: http://www.acurite.com/5in1#cleaning
•Items Needed: 5-in-1 sensor, Philips screwdriver, damp cloth, car wax, toothbrush (optional), moth ball (optional)
1.First, open your 5-in-1 sensor by removing the (4) four screws from the bottom. The screws toward the center of the sensor are for Rain Gauge calibration only. Do not adjust these screws.
2.After your sensor has been opened, remove any insects, cobwebs, or debris. An old toothbrush can help to clean out the hard-to-reach places.
3.Use a damp cloth to clean off the rain gauge tipping buckets. •Note: The damp cloth should only be used to clean the tipping buckets. Do not use to clean any other internal components.

4.Place a small amount of car wax on a soft cloth and wipe down the tipping buckets to ensure that rain flows through smoothly.
5.To further defend against insects crawling into your sensor, you may place a moth ball in the nook, near the tipping buckets (shown in video). Adhere the moth ball to the sensor with a piece of tape. •Note: Insect repellant may be used for additional protection, but should not be sprayed on the internal components or into the sensor.

6.Reassemble the 5-in-1 sensor by replacing the (4) four screws on the bottom of the sensor that were removed earlier.

I am having the same issue. The station reports to the indoor display just fine. However, when I look at myacurite and weatherunderground, it registers no rain accumulation. Smarthub is less than 1 year old.
