Rain Gauge isn't working (Model 01536-RX)

I have the Pro Color Weather Station with PRO+ 5-in-1 Sensor, PC Connect, Wind Speed, and Rain Gauge. My indoor display unit has stopped measuring rain. All other items on display are measuring fine.

>Opened sensor unit and cleaned inside so no more cobwebs. Poured water through; nothing on display.

>Did a hard reset per directions. Then, did the 8oz water drip test and still no rainfall showing on the indoor display.

>Reopened unit, cups tilt back and forth; however, one cup measures 8 drops before emptying, while the other cup is 23 drops. Even after doing drip test no rain showing on indoor display.

How do I calibrates cups to be equal emptying and why is the display not registering any 'rain'.

Purchased unit from Costco 1 year ago and expected it to work longer than this.

Would appreciate any suggestions.

Hello Shawn,
Please verify you are also using the battery recommendations below.  When you clean the inside, you want to make sure there is nothing below the tipping cups as well.  If you have and the issue continues after the calibration, the sensor will need to be replaced. What is the exact date of purchase? For your convenience, I have provided a link below to the replacements.

Batteries:

•Verify you are using fresh alkaline batteries or lithium batteries (when temperature is below -4°F/-20°C) in sensor.

•Quality brand batteries are recommended, including Duracell, Rayovac, Energizer, or Kirkland.

•Verify batteries are fresh. The battery expiration date should be at least 6 years out. Batteries can lose 3% power or more every year in storage.

•Heavy duty, extra strength or generic / store brand batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the way these types of batteries disperse power. Each battery should not exceed 1.6 volts.

•Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the voltage instability of these types of batteries.

•Mixing different battery types (brands, old/new, etc.) is not recommended.
