Customer Instruction set. . .

Below is a Reply that I put in the forum.  I have had the same sync'ing problem in other Acurite devices displaying Temperatures and alike.  I suspect you get too many inquiries about this same problem.  Suggest you improve your instruction manual to include possible hints for avoiding this problem or redesign the method of synchronization used.  I nearly gave up and saved the packaging to return 00986 unit, but, decided to give it one more try as an overnight test. Finally, the system sync'd and is displaying as you intended.  But, it was agony getting to this point......

"I have exactly the same problem with a new unit and have followed Crystal's instructions.  Always starting with fresh, tested batteries, the first 4-5 attempts at this set of instructions resulted in "one" temp display reading and no further reading updates.  Tried one last time, and for some unknown reason, the display started following the sensors data and the temps began to update.  I am guessing that AcuRite is using some sort of scanning channel sync'ing method that takes a bunch of tries before the display and sensors sync up.  If not, it is a mystery why these units act like they are defective."

Hello Skywagon185guy,

We have responded to your previous post regarding the 00986 model. Stating that typically performing the recommend troubleshooting once with high quality alkaline batteries should correct the issue. We do not have any sort of scanning channel that would require you to perform the hard reset several times in order for it to sync up. It is possible that there are other items around the unit that may have interfered at the time of troubleshooting. However, we are happy to hear that you were able to correct this. We do appreciate your feedback regarding the model. Should you require further assistance please let us know. Thank you.
