Problems initializing my smarthub 09150M

When I plugged in and powered my smarthub 1) the network light never flashed as described in the directions (to download firmware update) and 2) after about a minute, the sensor light started blinking rapidly and never stops blinking.

1) I find it odd that there were no firmware updates because this system is over a year old BUT new out of the box - I’m just now installing it.

2) To resolve the sensor issue I’ve tried disconnecting and repowering the hub, and with all lights steady as if firmware were updated pressing the ACTIVATE button for the allotted 4 seconds. But about a minute later the sensor light starts blinking again. Network light still constant.

I’ve even done all of the above PLUS going through the steps to ‘Add A New Sensor’ through my display screen...both immediately after repowering the unit (all lights steady) and waiting until after the sensor light starts blinking.

My 5 n 1 is about 45 feet away, off of the back left corner of the house and the smarthub is just inside of a patio door on the back right corner. The display is in a back room about equal distance from the other two devices. I should mention there are no walls between the rooms where the display and smarthub are.

What am I doing wrong or not doing?

Sean normally when the sensor light flashes rapidly it means that the smarthub does not see the sensor. First off does your display receive info from the 5 in 1? If you can bring the 5 in 1 close to the smarthub and see if the light stops flashing, then you can go to your Myacurite dashboard and under settings / devices available sensors and then add your 5 in 1. Once the smarthub sees your sensor you can try putting it back where you had it and see if it will work from there.

I did try this yesterday, had both devices within feet of each other. Light starts blinking after a minute or so. Thanks for trying!

Hello Sean,
Please power cycle your smartHUB and router. To do this, you will unplug your Ethernet cable from the router then the adapter for the HUB. After this you can unplug your router. Please leave them unplugged for about 5 minutes. When you plug them back in plug the router in first and let it completely boot up, then you can plug the Ethernet cable into the router after that the adapter. Try to add your device to My AcuRite by clicking the plus tab at the top of the page. Please let us know if you continue to have issues. Thank you!

Right and yes, the display is communicating with the 5n1. It will be similar to moving a mountain (lol) but I will see if I can’t bring them closer together to see if that will work. Thanks!
