phantom rain

I have a 5-in-1 sensor that likes to record decent amounts of rain despite there having been none fall. The plastic plug and tape have been removed and there has been quite a bit of wind but there has definitely not been any rain. Any ideas?

Matt that is normally caused by the sensor moving / swaying in the wind. Make sure the sensor is firmly mounted.

Thanks Ledrak. That could well be the cause. It is mounted to 2x4 which may not be stiff enough. Will go to plan B.

Hello Matt,
Ledrak is correct. One other thing to check would be to make sure the sensor is level using the level bubble on the top of the unit. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you.
