PC Connect vs ACCESS

What is the difference between collecting data through the PC Connect program and just using ACCESS?  My indoor monitor is kept away from the PC and I have to plug it in every 10 days when the Blogger is full.  I'm not sure why I've been using this program for the past two years.

If you already have your Access or SmartHUB set up, there is no need to mess with PC Connect to download data from the internal logger.  In fact, you can ignore the internal logger completely.

If you need CSV files of data, you can download them from myAcurite on a monthly basis.

George, does the access unit new or old offer Wind Direction data? One of the things I wanted was to create historical Wind Rose plots to understand local weather patterns.

Yes.  If you download a CSV file from myAcurite, it will have wind direction data.  I just checked my 5n1 data through the Access and it is there.  I'm pretty sure it is there for SmartHUB data, too.

Thanks.  I never could figure out what the purpose of the Logger is, other than to send me a nag every ten days.

Hello Paul,

The information on the CSV file through PC Connect will provide you with the indoor and outdoor information from your sensor. The CSV file on My AcuRite will only give you the information from your sensor. Please let us know if there is anything further we can assist you with. Thank you.
