PC connect not stable and crashes all the time

I have recently purchased the Acurite Weather Station Model No. 01536CAUDI. I cannot get a stable connection with a windows 10 PC via the USB cable. I have tried to reinstall the product, rebooting the PC, different USB ports and still doesn't work.

The PC specs are:
  • Windows 10 Pro with the latest updates, Version 1703, OS Build 15063.786
  • Processor Pentium Dual-Core CPU E6500 @ 2.93GHz
  • 8.00GB Ram
  • 64-bit operating system 
The latest PC connect version V 2.0.3 is what I have installed and produces the error below

Anyone else get similar errors and know how to fix it?

Do i need to install a particular version of .NET?

Hello Karl,
Do you have you computer set to High performance or Balanced? If your computer is on Balanced, please change to High Performance.  After this if the issue continues, open your control panel and click on 'Hardware and Sound' then 'Devices and Printers'.  Here you should see a device labeled "Chaney" Please Right click on the device to uninstall it. After the name of the device is removed, disconnectthe device and restart the computer.  Re-install the PC Connect software.Re-connect the USB with the display.  Once you have everything set up again, please let us know if you have any other issues.
