PC Connect constantly stops sending data and crashes

I have reported this before. The software keeps crashing and stops sending data. I have to restart the software for everything to work.  This is on Windows 10

Hello Mitchell,

In Device Manager with the USB connected try the following troubleshooting steps.
1.  Right click the name of the device and select Uninstall
2.  Confirm Device Uninstall Window opens
3.  Click OK
4.  After the name of the device is removed, disconnect the device and restart the computer
5.  Re-install the PC Connect software
6. Re-connect the USB with the display

At this time I can't even connect the device without it causing other USB ports to act up. This could be an OS problem but I just have to give up for now. This product doesn't work reliably. I may have to go back to the 3rd Party VIS reader but it wasn't really stable either.

Hello Mitchell,

Were you able to perform the troubleshooting steps listed above? The VIS reader has not been proven to work accurately with the software or My AcuRite. Our software is something that our development team is looking into.   We do not have a time frame as to when the software issues will be corrected, but will update the community forum when we have more information.

The device doesn't show up in Device Manager in Windows 10. I did uninstall the software, reboot and and re-install with no success. It causes my USB port to constantly reset and become unstable.  This product has disappointed me on and off since I bought it.

First, temperature readings were off the scale until you sent me the dual solar panel
Now unreliable connectivity to share my data on the internet. I was excited for the Atlas but now not sure I should stick with AcuRite if ever do update my weather station.

A smartHUB is an easier option. Typically at this point we would test the display to ensure the hardware is not the issue however, you are outside of the warranty period.  I do apologize for the inconvenience.  I have emailed you at the email address on file regarding this. When Microsoft upgraded my PC to Creators edition, PC connect quit even launching.

Hello Larry,

This sounds like an issue with Windows. We would recommend contacting the manufacturer of your computer to see if they can assist you with getting this to launch.

I too have a problem with PC connect dropping every 5 min. Tried re install, new batts, nothing corrects problem. Windows 10.

Hello Jay,
Please make sure that your PC does not go into sleep mode. In order for the information to transmit online, the following things need to happen.

You need to keep the display plugged into the computer

You need to have the software running

The computer needs to stay on and running (going into sleep mode will prevent any readings from transmitting)

The computer needs to be online at all times

If one of these things is not happening that could be why your information is not transmitting online. Thank you.

I actually wrote a batch script to kill the VIS Reader I use and restart hourly. Now I get stable reports.
