I just put new batteries into my new 00611A3 wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer, and only part of the display is showing. When I pick up the display unit, or squeeze it even the slightest amount from front to back at the upper right corner, the display shows the entire number as it should.

Hi Cynthia,

We are sorry to hear that the thermometer is giving you trouble. Please let us know what kind of batteries you are using in the display. We typically recommend a standard alkaline battery such as Energizer or Rayovac. Removing and reinstalling the batteries will reset the display and should help to correct any issues.

I am having continual issues with my 00611A3 thermometer.  I am using only new, high quality Energizer batteries but have to replace them every 2 weeks.  I need a solution or I will have to scrap it and look for another brand.

Hello Michael,

You want to use an alkaline battery such as Rayovac, Duracell, Energizer or Kirkland. Are you testing the batteries to see if they are drained, or are you getting dashes on the display. Getting dashes doesn't necessarily mean the batteries are dead in the product. It means that it has lost communication with the sensor. If you are getting dashes make sure you have both the display, and sensor at least 3 feet from electronics such as televisions, microwaves, radios, computers. Please try the steps below:

1. Bring both the sensor and display unit indoors and remove the batteries. Keep the batteries out for at least 1 minute.
2. Reinstall the battery in the outdoor sensor, looking for the red light on the sensor to flash.
3. Reinstall the battery in the display unit.

Once the outdoor temperature is displayed you can put the sensor back outside. Thank you.  Have a good day!
