Ordered 06002RM to connect to 01536 Weather Center-Received 00592TXR and it does not connect

I have the 01536 Professional Weather Center, and it works fine with the regular outdoor temp/humidity/rain/wind sensor.  I purchased the 06002RM as an additional sensor; however, it does not show up on my indoor display.  I noticed today that the actual M/N of the unit I received was 00592TXR, and so I thought it was an error in shipping from the vendor.  When I look at the correct M/N on the AcuRite web site, it shows both of those M/N's at the same unit.  The Installation manual that came with the 01536 unit says the sensor that is compatible is the 06002RM.  What could be the problem?  Any way to reset one or the other units to get the proper display to show up?  I am a long-time AcuRite user of other similar models.

Donna,

Your display unit is different than mine, but I looked at the user manual for yours and I'm pretty sure it only supports one sensor.
Where would it display the other?

I think if you want additional sensors, you may need to invest in a bridge/hub and use the MyAcurite app or WEB app.
(It possible that the PC Connect feature of your display would do the job, but given it has only one ABC switch, I don't know how).

I have a hub and:
5-1
Indoor temp sensor (you need one as the hub doesn't have one)
A second outdoor temp sensor (on my pool).

The hubs/apps are now compatible with more sensors.

Hello Donna,

This is the first display that is compatible with a 5in1 sensor and a 592 (06002).  The display should automatically pick up the extra 592 sensor.  To view the other sensors press the Up or Down buttons on the display.  If you are not seeing the sensors we would recommend hard resetting the units together.  Please follow the troubleshooting listed below.  If you continue to have this issue please contact AcuRite Consumer Support at 877-221-1252.  Thank you and have a great day!

Batteries:
•Verify you are using fresh alkaline batteries or lithium batteries (when temperature is below -4oF/-20oC) in sensor.
•Quality brand batteries are recommended, including Duracell, Rayovac, Energizer, or Kirkland.
•Verify batteries are fresh. The battery expiration date should be at least 6 years out. Batteries can lose 3% power or more every year in storage.
•Heavy duty, extra strength or generic / store brand batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the way these types of batteries disperse power. Each battery should not exceed 1.6 volts.
•Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the voltage instability of these types of batteries.
•Mixing different battery types (brands, old/new, etc.) is not recommended.

Hard reset:
- Bring both units side by side and remove all batteries, unplug display if it has an ac adapter
- Change the ABC Switch to a different setting and ensure that both are on the same setting. example - If on A, move both to C
- Place batteries into the outdoor sensor first
- Place batteries into display
- Allow units to sit side by side until they connect.

I've got a 592TXR that was connected with another Acurite weather station.  It's set to the C channel. I bought the 01536 5-in-1 weather station and set it up with the display and 5-in-1 using the B channel.  Interestingly enough the new display even though set to B does pick up the 592TXR.  The up button on the display has multiple functions and I have it set for scrolling which first displays indoor temp and humidity and then flips over to outdoor temp and humidity from the 592.  Note that the display seems to have the ability to look at all 3 channels regardless of the setting on the 592.  When the 592 display scrolls up, it actually shows the channel letter for that sensor.  Mine shows that it is on C.  Note that it may take a little bit of time once the display is powered on to detect the sensor.  I think it looks on each channel to see what it can find.  Note that my old weather station is still up and functioning and it also displays the 592 data concurrently while the new display is seeing and displaying that same info.

So my guess is the channel setting on the 592 is important if you use the hub, but not if the 01536 display is your only concern.

Just a further postscript, I did experiment yesterday and flipped the 592 to B.  With that I noticed that the 01536 display lost the signal and couldn't recover it even though it is set to B.  I flipped the 592 back to its original C setting and the display still showed no signal.  I finally ended up resetting power on the display and it eventually found the 592 and its data started displaying on the screen.

My question to the support folks is if I add future sensors, does the display have to be power reset to find these new units?

Hello Jack,

The display should automatically pick up new sensors as long as they are all on different channels.  Thank you and have a great day!

Does the data from the second sensor appear in the data file on the PC and / or Wunderground or Rapid Fire?

Hello Mike,

You will only see the 5in1 sensor on Weather Underground and on the CSV.  Please let us know if you have any other questions.  Thank you and have a great day!

Is there any way to collect the data from sensor #2?
