on the 5-in-1 model 00502, how do I know for what period of time the "current event" rain is measured and when it starts. Can it be changed?

Hi Kathy,

The display is not going to tell you what time a rain event started, it will only give you the measurement for the current rain event.  Your rainfall event  will clear when no rain registers for 8 hours or no rain registers for 1 hour and pressure rises by .03inhg or more.

Thank you, Crystal, I appreciate your response, but that really isn't what I was asking. I'm wondering how it's possible to record daily rainfall at the same time with this model. With my other rain gauge, for example, I can empty it every day at 5:00 and record the amount. How can I use this Acurite model to record rainfall at the same time each day?

Hi Kathy,

With the model 00502, that unit does not register daily totals; it only measures event rainfall, monthly and All-Time (since the unit was last reset) rainfall totals.  We do have other units available that measure daily totals, but unfortunately, this unit was not designed to do so.

Have a great day!
