Not Reporting to Weather Underground

I have the new bridge and it works fine locally. However, I have never been able to upload weather information to WU. I have followed every troubleshooting step I could find to no avail. Please check the status at Acurite and let me know what is going on. Some of the steps I have followed are:

1. Changed from WU password to station key
2. Typed everything in, no copy and paste
3. Station name all in capitals
4. Device is set to sharing
5. Deleted and recreated multiple times
6. Changed views between every change to force it to 'take' the changes
7. Tried changing the order when creating - share first then add device, and vice versa
8. Changed the device address to see if that shows up on WU. It did not.
9. Waited hours and even days to allow changes to propagate.

Hello Lee, Dom & Graham,

Can you please provide us with the type of internet you have, such as satellite, cable, or dial up?  We are currently investigating this. Right now we do not have an update as to when this will be corrected. We have found that some ISP typically satellite use an accelerator and this is stopping the transmission to Weather Underground. Some ISP providers can disable the accelerator for just 1 customer, some can not. If you are using a satellite we would recommend seeing if you can get this disabled. This is a temporary work around as we are still investigating this, to get it work without having to disable the accelerator. Thank you. Have a good day!

My SmartHub is having the same problem, fine on my-acurite and the local display, not so fine on Weather Underground. In fact, worked an hour this morning for some strange reason yet not for the past few days or the rest of today...

Hello robester0,

The Weather Underground station ID that is on your account has not updated since 4/9/14.  Please verify you have typed in the station ID and Password. If you are still not streaming after 15 minutes try using the station key as the password.  If the issue continues please let us know.  Thank you and have a great day!

After installing the new Access, I too am not getting data sent to WU.  Seems to be an issues with Acurite as it stopped reporting the day I installed the new bridge.  I have cable internet with 300MB DL and 12+ upload.

I DO have satellite however, it use to transmit to WU without issue until your firmware update killed the old bridge. It's only with the new bridge that it doesn't transmit to WU!

You weren't transmitting to wunderground before on the old system.  Acurite's servers were doing that for you.

I suggest you complain to your satellite internet provider.  They are the ones messing with your data stream that is causing things not to work as they do on the regular internet.

This fix needs to be soon. The primary reason for buying the system was for WU reporting. If I can't have that, I will be seeking a full refund.

I just bought and received today my 01036   5-1 weather station, I was all excited to get my weather online to weather Wunderground  and now I see that is not possible. I am not a happy customer right now and feel I have been duped by your company. Is this service going to be fixed and is it going to be sooner than later or is this something you can not fix. Looking at all these posts you have been having this issue since you changed your format. What a stupid move to completely change something that works for something that is not working   We are your customers and this one has a very bad taste in my mouth on my first experience with your company and its products. I guess I should have done better research before my purchase. Hoping for a reply but not holding my breath waiting for a fix.

Unless you bought a SmartHUB, the 01036 kit requires a PC running PC Connect in order to forward data to wunderground.  

It should not be a problem, even with a satellite internet provider, assuming they are not doing something even more wacky to your data stream.

Thanks for your reply!  Yes of course the unit needs a pc connected to the internet and be running all the time, that's a given in my books  it is sending data to acurite no problem, shows DATA SEND with current time and regularly updates the time sent . WU it shows waiting for data. To me that means its sending out of my station no problem. The problem seems to be with acurite not sending the data to WU.

Hello Graham,

What type of internet are you using? Do you have Satellite or Cable internet? Who is the provider or your internet? We are having some problems with customers who have satellite internet are having an issue transmitting online. This has been determined to be caused by a web accelerator. If you are able to we would recommend to contact your ISP and have them turn the accelerator off. We understand that not all ISP can do this and are working towards a more permanent resolution. I already provided this. I am using Exede satellite. I tried web acceleration off. It took three days and four long calls with tech support to achieve it. I let it that way four 24 hours during which time there was still no updating Weather Underground. However, internet performance was so bad I had to turn it back on again.

Hello Graham,

At this time there is no update for the Weather Underground sharing. We are working on investigating this so we can come up with a solution. Turning the accelerator off is a temporary fix. Once you do turn it off you would want to go in and enter your Weather Underground Station ID and password on My AcuRite so it pushes the information to Weather Underground. I'm having the same problem. All works well around the house and myacurite. But the WU isn't receiving the info. I have Excel satellite internet. I've tried everything also and look forward to a solution!! I'll continue to monitor!

Turning off web acceleration is not a viable workaround. It doesn't actually fix the problem plus internet performance is even worse without it.

Actually, it does, but you probably have other issues going on if your satellite link is so saturated that you can't use it, though.  Either that or Exede is "over-subscribing" the link.

I respectfully disagree. I am on a new beam that does not have too many subscribers yet and actually gives pretty good performance with web acceleration enabled, but not so good without it. If I could not get Acurite to update WU in 24 hours of trying (and yes; I did use all caps for the station name and I used the id from WU as the password and I did not typo it and I rebooted everything) then there is something wrong other than my ISP.

Hello Graham,

Once you have turned off the web accelerator you would need to go back and either enter your Weather Underground credentials in My AcuRite or change the address under device to something other than what you have it at. Once you have done that give it about 5-10 minutes and it should push the information to Weather Underground. You can then go in and change your address back to the correct address. This is a temporary fix until we find a long term resolution.  Thank you. Enjoy your day!

We recommend plugging it directly into the router. We have found that some users get an intermittent connection when the use a port or switch. Please plug it into the router to see if you are able to get it transmitting to Weather Underground. Thank you. Enjoy your day!

Hello John,

Once you plug the smartHUB directly into the router go to your devices on My AcuRite and change the address to something other than what it currently is for about 10 minutes. Check Wunderground is transmitting the information. You can then go ahead and change the information back to your address. We do know that as of right now Weather Underground is having some issues that they are working on resolving. Thank you. Enjoy your day!

Interesting you ask him that. I do not have the option of plugging into the router directly so am connected via a switch. Are you saying that the cause is both switching and web acceleration now? In that case I am doubly screwed!

Hello Graham,

For people who are not able to transmit to Weather Underground and have satellite we have found that turning the web accelerator off is a work around for this issue until we find a permanent resolution.  We have always recommended the smartHUB be plugged directly into the router. We have found that with some customers this causes an intermittent connection where the smartHUB will go offline and then come back on and go off again. By plugging it directly into the router we have found that it eliminates that intermittent connection. Thank you. Enjoy your day!

That didn't work. I can't imagine how it could be a switch issue. It was plugged into the same switch before the update. This is a software problem imo.

That's what it says for station id in my accurite. Not saying I have any idea, so advice is welcome on what I may be misinterpreting

MyAcurite should not be telling you what your wunderground station ID is.  That's something you need to get from wunderground, and then you enter that information into myAcurite.

First, we should probably establish what your wunderground station ID is.  Can you provide a link to your wunderground station page?

The station ID for someone in the US is normally a "K", followed by a two-letter State identifier, followed by a few letters for your city, and then some numbers.

For example, mine is KSCWOODR3.  K=U.S., SC=South Carolina, WOODR=Woodruff, 3=3rd station in the city.

Hi, similar problem here but with one wrinkle... My weather station (KTNGERMA27) has been reporting fine for months. Last Friday I changed my Weather Underground password. Shouldn't have affected this, as the WU link uses the key for my PWS, not the password. But it hasn't reported as of that moment. Have tried updating the key in My Acurite, deleting and re-adding the shared station, etc. No love. Any ideas?

What internet service do you use?  We did attempt to force the station to update by changing your address on the device however, this did not correct the issue.

Hi, Rachell... My internet provider is AT&T U-verse. I just now for the umpteenth time removed it from "Sharing" at My Acurite and then re-added, it, and it is finally working! I guess something somewhere along the way finally worked.

My Acurite stopped showing up on WU on May 25th (13 days ago) and nothing I do seems to get the data between MyAcurite online and WU. MyAcurite Dashboard shows current data, so I presume that means that the data is at least getting onto the internet and out to the Acurite site.

Changed the street address and it still didn't show up at WU. Changed back to real address, then back to fake address after a number of hours. Still not working

Acurite wont be back until Mon morning but in the mean time you can try this . Go to your Myacurite page and under SETTINGS click on Share weather , click on share weather and then click on EDIT then  un click the share box and save that . Next click on the circle next to your weather station and remove your WU info . I opened a splash page ( ip address of hub / bridge ) to make sure the WU info was gone took about 5 minutes of refreshing for it to disappear . After you know its gone unplug hub / bridge and wait 10 minutes then reboot hub / bridge . After getting a new IP address ( check your router page and look for the hubs MAC address to find it  ) open that splash page ( ip address of hub ) and double check that the WU info is gone . Wait another 10 minutes and then redo all your WU info plus check the SHARE box again and save .  It takes about 5  minutes for WU to start rapid firing again . .

Has this ever been taken care of?  Mine will work for weeks, and then just stop with no notice.  Just logging into weather underground says the PMS is offline.  Aculink.com has no problem but Weather Underground says not reporting.

I know most of this was 9 months or so ago, but some are within a month...

Actually, maybe for me it isn't Acurite.  Re-entered my password and left it be.  Turns out, now Weather Underground is reporting the station online AND has data for the last week!  I doubt Acurite would be sending all historical data, although maybe they do.  I wonder if Weather Underground isn't reporting the station as not reporting even though it is.

I am having the same problem.  I can see my data on Myacurite.com, but it has never showed up on Weather Underground.  The internet connection is a Commercial Comcast Account in Boulder, Colorado.

The Weather Underground station ID is KCOBOULD364.  I have entered all the ID and Station Key info into the Myacurite web site multiple times and waited more than 12 hours, but to no avail.  Weather Underground shows no data have been uploaded.

I have other Davis Weather Stations on cable modems and they upload to Weather Underground in a very reliable manner, so I know my Weather Underground account works.  See https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KCOBOULD79 and https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KCOPAGOS18 for reference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like its connected now.

I was making a change to one of my locations on Sunday morning (changing the sensor used for WU) and it did not connect to WU until late Sunday night, which is unusual.  I wonder if there was an issue with WU account updates at Acurite?

My other location which is also a Acurite weather station worked fine all weekend, though I did not make any WU related changes to it.

Another problem here on Comcast Denver.  My station ID is KCODENVE492.  I've entered the ID and key several times over just to try.  Still says Not Reporting. I have a Smart Hub.

My station, https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KCOBOULD364 is up and running now, but it took well over 24 hours for the data to start appearing on Weather Underground.  There is a note that it may take hours for data to appear, but more than a day seems excessive...

At least, I am up and running now.

I am now not reporting to WU. I replaced my 5-in-1 with a new 5-in-1 two days ago. The sensor is reporting to myAcurite and my inside weather station fine. The SmartHub is working fine also. I contacted WU via email, but no response for two days. The only thing I haven't done is delete the station from WU and add it as a new station in myAcurite.

I am having the same issue as everyone else. I am using PC connect and have level two working on it. I even created a new station and am still getting an error.I was connceting to WU fine until I started having connection problems with my console to the the Sensors. I did all the steps and compleatly reset the system and still cannot update to WU. here is my log error

Data will not be posted to Weather Underground (WU) as sharing with WU or My AcuRite is disabled or user's Weather Underground credentials are invalid or sensor's wind direction is invalid or no connection to sensor or full set of sensor data is unavailable..

I am connected to my AcuRite. This is very frustrating as I have not heard back from level 2 in two days.

Hello Greg,

On the Pc Connect software for sharing to Wunderground do you have your station ID and password entered there? You may need to try your station ID and passkey instead. Once you have that entered you want to click the share now. Once you click it, then it should say stop sharing. On the software it should tell you that the Weather Underground is sending data. We are sorry that no one has gotten back to you. We will look into this. Please try the steps suggested and let us know if this corrects the issue.

Have same issue going back to May 2017. Both Acurite and WU worked on it for what seemed to be months and it was never resolved. I don't understand why some stations are having this issue and others, apparently, are not.

Hello rmcleran,

Do you have a PC Connect display or a smartHUB? Please provide us with the model number of your product. Please provide us more information on the issue you are experiencing so we can further assist you with troubleshooting.  If you have a PC Connect display, on the PC Connect software on the computer please tell us what it says under status once you have the display plugged in.  If it is the smartHUB you have please let us know what the blue lights on the side of the smartHUB are doing? What are the amber and green lights on the smartHUB doing? Is it plugged directly into the router or are you using a port or switch?

Here's the info. I provided the same info to you in June 2017 after it stopped sending data to WU on May 25, 2016. I have a smartHUB: model 09150M purchased in December 2016 (Xmas gift). Both blue lights are on (not blinking). The amber light is flashing and the green light is on (not blinking). It is plugged directly into a router. Everything shows up on MyAccurite but has never shown up on WU after it went down on May 25th, 2016, despite almost two months of trouble-shooting with you (Jennifer) and Acurite. It was showing on WU prior to May 25th, 2016. I even tried setting up a new station on WU and that didn't work, either.

Jennifer, don't know what you did (I didn't do anything on my end of the rope) but our weather station data is now showing up on WU. Thanks for whatever you did.

We are happy to hear you are online and transmitting. I did not do anything as we were out of the office due to the holiday. I attempted to pull up your My AcuRite account based off the email address registered to the community forum but was unable to do so. Please let us know if there is anything we can assist you with. I just got a smart hub, and I am also having this issue. It reports to My Acurite fine, but myacurite won't send it to wunderground. I put my station id and password (station, not account) into myacurite, but it won't work.


I left it running all day to see if it would work, but it wouldn't. I removed the share and readded it a couple times, but it still won't update. PC Connect on my computer works fine, but sharing it from myacurite doesn't.

I checked WU again and it's reporting... didn't do anything. Hope it keeps working.

I am having the same problem with my new smartHUB. Everything seems to work fine within the Accurite app, but WU states that it’s not reporting. I have gone through the same troubleshooting steps and my ISP is ATT Fiber.

I am having similar problems with PC Connect not reporting to Weather Underground.  myAcuRite seems to be getting the data okay.

I've rebooted my laptop.

I've reentered the Station ID (all caps with no extra spaces) and Pasword (WU Station Key) in PC Connect and the "Stop Sharing" appears.  All looks normal.  However, WU says my Personal Weather Station is "Not Reporting"

AcuRiteconnectLog says:
- Data will not be posted to Weather Underground (WU) as sharing with WU or My AcuRite is disabled or user's Weather Underground credentials are invalid or sensor's wind direction is invalid or no connection to sensor or full set of sensor data is unavailable.
- Report processing is done.
- Post to My AcuRite succeeded!

What should I do next?

Data is loading now "Post to Weather Underground succeeded!"

I don't know if anything I did fixed the problem, but the system is working now.

I did a Disk clean up of my hard drive and a System File Checker (SFC) Scan.
