No smarthub no internet, just manual USB transfer of data to laptop. Yet, random huge data gaps.

Long periods of data gaps at random intervals. I am not using smarthub or WU. I collect data through Acurite Connect manually every fortnight by connecting a USB cable to my laptop and the display. The batteries are good and there is no internet required in this system, so the interference or ethernet cable problem is eliminated. What is the reason for this error?.

Radio interference, most likely.

Hello George,

Thanks for the reply. The weather station is placed in the Himalayas, in a remote village,1150 meters above sea level,. Is radio interference still a concern?.

Yes.  Radio interference tends to come from local appliances and radio communications.

For example, the problem could be someone in the area talking on a hand-held two-way radio using a frequency near that used by the 5n1 sensor.

But the data collection is done manually through a USB cable. How could radio signal affect that? I don't think my weather station uses signals to sense the weather or transmit data. Or does it?

Radio interference may block the transmission of data from the 5n1 sensor to the console.

That would result in data gaps in the internal logger of the console.

I don't know what you're expecting from them.  Blocked transmissions cause data gaps in the logger.  It's as simple as that.

I'm looking for an official response from Acurite. I'm glad that you responded but that is not enough. We are an organisation that is using approximately 40 such weather stations. So I want their professionals to address my problem.

Usually a customer service rep sorts through all the postings starting Monday morning.  They should be starting their day about 8 or 9 hours from now.

Apparently some reorganization and layoffs were announced Thursday or Friday by the parent company, Primex Family of Companies.  It's unknown how Acurite's support personnel are affected.

You can learn more about Primex Family of Companies here: http://www.thepfoc.com/

Hi George,
They still don't seem to care. Anyways, what is the total storage of my 5 in 1 weather sensor? I do not have a smarthub and I do not upload data to weather under or anywhere. My weather station is not connected to a computer constantly. It is installed in far away mountains and people reach those places to collect data fortnightly, that is once in 15 days. We are missing data even though we collect fortnightly. So i would like to know if the weather station can only store data for 12 days or 31 days?

The internal logger is said to hold two weeks of data. (14 days)

So it's possible your are missing data if you are't downloading often enough.

One thing I should mention you might be interested in...

When the Atlas weather stations are out, they will have a console that allows for a removable SD Card storing log data up to 32 Gigabytes.  A year's worth of detailed 10-second data points takes up about 1 Gigabyte of space.

It would also make swapping out SD Cards easy instead of hooking up a computer and downloading data every two weeks.

That would allow you much more flexibility for visiting stations and gathering data.

That is some great news, yet I'm worried about the cost of upgrade.

Another clarification.

The model number of my weather station is 06004. Is the internal logger storage is 14 days for this model too?

If so, I have obtained data excel sheets for 18 days in some occasions. How was that possible?

"Two Weeks" is just the value given across-the board for all displays.  I imagine there might be an actual variation from model to model.  The models generally tell you when their memory is full.

I looked up the model number 06004, but it only had data for the outside sensor.  There should be a model number on the back of the display which will allow a specific manual for the display to be found.

Details as provided by the distributor.

Full weather station model no is exactly - 01036M  ( Different part nos for units). The outdoor units (Model/Part No- 06004) and the Indoor unit ( Model /Part No- 06006).

So the display model no is 06006.

Hello Rajesh,
We are very sorry for the delay in response. All of our PC Connect displays will store up to 12 days data in the data logger. At this point the data will need to be transferred to store more. In your original post, you stated you are using AcuRite Connect to transfer your data, this is an outdated software. Please download AcuRite PC Connect.  For your convenience, I have provided a link below to the software download. Can you provide a picture of the CSV where you are missing data? Is the display losing connection to the sensor during these gaps?
