No chart data available - need to know how to correct this and how to keep it from happening again

"No chart data available"  The 5-in-1 sensor is working, the LCD monitor is displaying current information, the CVS file contains up-to-the-minute data, but the Dashboard can not find the data.  I have been tolerating this for several weeks by copying the CSV file to another folder and importing it into an Excel file where I can see the data and do daily, storm and season totals, etc..  Now, I would like to use the Dashboard as it was intended.  After reviewing several conversations, It was apparent that the problem could be fixed, but they did not tell how and there was no mention of ways to keep it from happening again.  Please advise.

Hello Steve,

We show you as offline on My AcuRite. If you are not transmitting there will be no charts & details. Please make sure you have your display in USB mode 3(depending on the model number of the display you may not have a USB mode). On the PC Connect software under status it should say the display console is detected. Below that last data received should be a current date and time stamp. Below that My AcuRite Sharing should say Data Sending. If it does not please go to Weather Sharing, and make sure you have the box checked that says share my weather data. You will enter your Device ID/ Mac address. Below that you will click share now. Under status you will then see My AcuRite Sharing: Data sending. You will then go to My AcuRite.com, and log into your account. Your information should be online, and that time and date stamp on the PC Connect software should continue to update. The computer can not go into sleep mode or be turned off. The software has to be running, and the display has to stay plugged in.

Thank you for your prompt reply.  I took the steps you specified and the charts have been reactivated for data beginning as of the time I reinitialized Data Sending, however, all data from the past several weeks is missing from the charts.  I suppose that I should now assume that the charts are not compiled from the fully complete set of data in the CSV file on my computer, but solely from data sent and stored somewhere on the Internet.  If this is so, please be advised that this is inconvenient for at least a portion of your customers.  My Internet connection is through Hughesnet satellite which limits monthly usage (what they call their FAP - "Fair Access Plan").  To stay within their limits, our Internet connection is shut down each night.  Also, the quality and speed of the Internet connection is strongly dependent on weather conditions, meaning that during inclement weather, connection may be lost (just when the new data is of most interest).  If this assumption is correct, I feel that it would be appropriate to request that in future versions there be an option for you customers to use Internet data or data stored on their PC's as a matter of personal choice.  Please pass this on to whomever manages programming as an item of information.  Many programmers and planners never experience the practical problems of their customers and this might be helpful.
Again, thank you for your prompt reply

Hello Steve,

For times when you are not transmitting online via My AcuRite there will be no charts & details. Are you using a PC Connect display? The display will store 2 weeks worth of data that you can transfer to the CSV file but this doesn't affect the readings on My AcuRite as the information is stored and transferred from the display and not My AcuRite. To get your data on My AcuRite you have to be actively streaming. We will consider your suggestion for future development.
