  • my new smart hub keeps dropping signal. this is the same problem I had with the old one. the old hub would not work unless it was directly connected to a router. will the new hub work if it is connected through a network switch?

The Access will work fine through a network switch.  The SmartHUB will, too, assuming the switch can handle 10Meg half-duplex mode.

I used my SmartHub on the business class (blue) Neatgear ProSafe switches series without issue.

Some of my 10/100 Netgear's are so old, the don't have Auto polarity  detection (you need to press a switch) when you connect Hub to Hub
