New Access hub reconnecting after power outage

I successfully installed my new Access Hub 09155M last night with batteries installed.  It was set up on my acurite and was uploading correctly to Weather Underground.  I disconnected the power twice to test out its storage capabilities (it is supposed to store data during a power outage [with battery power] then upload the data gap once power is restored).  Both times I had to totally re-do the set up to have my acurite and WU recognize it again and once it was connected, the outage data was missing in both WU and my acurite.  Are there specific directions , after a power outage and power is restored to first, easily reconnect the PWS to my acurite/WU and second, have the outage’s data gap sent to my acurite/WU.  It doesn’t seem like Access will automatically reconnect to the online services once it is powered on, without some human intervention.

Check to see that your batteries are good and properly installed.
My Access passed the outage tests with flying colors.

Dan,

I didn't have to do a thing. When the outage cleared (either power or internet), Access picked right up and ran, and patched my missing data.

I just disconnected the power for the Atlas for about 20 minutes.  I reapplied power when the dashboad went yellow.  Shortly after re-applying power, the dashboard went to bact to green with the "missed" data in the dharts.

I Ididn't looik at wunderground because I'm' sure that feature doesn't exist their yet.

I fussed with it some more, and it did update correctly to acurite. But I don’t think Weather Underground is set up to accept a series of measurements from a data outage gap. Does anyone have experiences with WU other than just updating one set of measurements at a time?

Hello NY Rob,

We are happy this is now working for you. When you had removed power from the Access, what was the light doing on the unit? Please verify you are using the battery recommendations listed below and that they are installed correctly. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you.

Batteries:

•Verify you are using fresh alkaline batteries or lithium batteries (when temperature is below -4°F/-20°C) in sensor.

•Quality brand batteries are recommended, including Duracell, Rayovac, Energizer, or Kirkland.

•Verify batteries are fresh. The battery expiration date should be at least 6 years out. Batteries can lose 3% power or more every year in storage.

•Heavy duty, extra strength or generic / store brand batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the way these types of batteries disperse power. Each battery should not exceed 1.6 volts.

•Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the voltage instability of these types of batteries.

•Mixing different battery types (brands, old/new, etc.) is not recommended.

No, backup is only to My AcuRite. The new feature does not work with WU. Maybe someday.

Wunderground does have the ability to back-fill data, but it isn't implemented in the Access.

It's just a matter of providing a time stamp in addition to the weather data.
