New 5 in 1 Unit, False Temp Readings Suddenly

Hey guys !  I purchased directly for the acurite web page a 5 in 1 with a bridge, installed it about 3 weeks ago and I was so impressed right away !!   Suddenly today, it's slightly overcast and my temp readings are through the roof, averaging 10+ degrees higher than everyone else around me.   We have lots of PWS in our area for some reason !   For those first 3 weeks, my unit was dead on with all the units around me, now today something went bad wrong.   Should I invest in a temp/humidity sensor and do away with the 5 in 1 ?   Should wait it out and see if it corrects itself ?   Should I contact CS and return the unit ?  Or is this just normal that they freak out somedays ?

Thanks !
Jesse

A 10 deg. high reading would indicate that the aspirating fan has, for some reason, stopped working.  Although I would doubt it, considering its newness, something might have gotten inside and clogged it up...spiders, ants, etc.  If you put your ear close to the unit, you should be able to hear the fan running when the sun is shining on the solar panels.  It will sound like a faint hum.  Also, you might want to take the sensor down and separate the 2 halves, exposing the fan, and check for critters.  It should start up easily when the panels are exposed to sunlight.  If it's not, definitely contact customer service and let them know what's going on...or just look here next week to communicate with a rep.  They'll get it sorted out for you.

After posting I took unit apart and inspected for bugs, it was very clean. Put unit in sun and fan would not run till I touched it, then it would run till I covered the solar cells. Only way the fan would run is if I touched it. It appears this problem is very common ! I'll wait to hear from CS. Almost sounds easier to get a stand alone temp sensor and hang in shade ?
