MyAcuRite website and phone app not updating, but WU has current data? (Using Access hub)

I upgraded from the SmartHub to the Access hub earlier and have had a flawless experience, until last night at 11 pm. It seems my internet service went off-line at 11 pm and I didn't notice it until this morning just before 6 am. I had to reset my cable modem and my routers to get my home back on the internet. MyAcuRite, Weather Underground, and CWOP all had lost track of my station (KMNVICTO6) at 11 pm. Once I got the home internet back functional at 6 am, MyAcuRite was back online and the lost data from 11 pm to 6 am appeared on MyAcurite (but not on WU). When I got home from work this evening, I see that MyAcuRite website and phone app are not seeing my 5 in 1 sensor and have not seen it since about 11 this morning. Funny thing is, Weather Underground has the gap with no data from 11pm to 6 am when my internet was down, but shows the data from all day starting at 6:03 am for my 5 in 1 station through the Access hub. How can that be, doesn't WU get its data from MyAcuRite?

What do I do to fix this? I tried unplugging the Ethernet cable, unplugging the power, removing the batteries from the Access hub for about 30 seconds and then plugging it back in, No difference - MyAcuRite dashboard still does not show my data.

Remove the CAT5 cable from the Access (leave the power), Wait for the LED to flash orange  , reconnect the CAT5.  The LED should turn blue after a few .  Then try an log into THE ACCESS.  THat shold now work.

That did not work. MyAcuRite is still not seeing the sensor but WU is. I was able to access the hub local web page before and after re-plugging the network cable.

What are you using to report to CWOP?  Is it still on-line?

George, I am using the beta wufyi link direct to CWOP. It was working great.
I also use the WU->wufyi->PWSWeather link for the Rachio system. This data was not impacted because WU was still reading data from the AcuRite Access hub.

At 2:00 am CST this morning, the AcuRite data started appearing on the MyAcuRite site and the CWOP data feed started working again at that time. Did AcuRite change something on their end?

I am seeing the same issue.  myAcurite was not updating from the Access while WU was.  My Hub sensors showed green all along.

As of now, things look good.  Yesterday my sensors were showing yellow and this morning, Red.

It's possible that since the Hub updates myAcurite live, you don't see connection issues.
Since the Access only updates myAcurite every 5 minutes, a few missed connections can span a longer time-frame and cause the dashboard to show yellow or red.

Doug, this was a > 12 hour continuous time window with no data appearing on MyAcuRite and perfect data on WU. Also, when the connection came back up, it did not backfill any of the missing data from Access' buffer. When the internet went down on my end and then came back up, MyAcuRite did backfill the missing data from Access' buffer. This is why I think something changed at AcuRite and was corrected by them.

Hello JohnH,

We apologize for the delay in response.  Can you clarify for us if the information did backfill from the AcuRite Access one the connection came back up? What internet provider are you using? What is the make and model of your router? You said WU was updating but your My AcuRite account was not?  Did you notice what color the light on your Access was? The Access will not backfill Weather Underground.  We have not made any changes on our end.  Thank you.

Rachel,

None of the information backfilled after the connection came back up. I have had the connection go down many times and have only seen the information backfill once, and that was when Mediacom, my internet provider, went down. The light on the Access was solid blue, like everything was working properly.

My internet provider is Mediacom Cable. The AcuRite Access is connected to an Amped Wireless APA20 access point via one of the 4 hard-wired ports. The APA20 is connected via a hard-wire to one of the 4 hard-wire ports on an Amped Wireless RTA15 wireless router, and the RTA15 is the DNS server. The RTA15 is then hard-wired via the WAN port to the Technicolor TC8305C Mediacom cable modem.

Since this occurrence, I've had several other instances where the Access quits communicating to the internet and the status light goes flashing red. If I power off the Access and back on, it will go back to solid blue after 30 seconds or so. No backfill data is sent was the connection is re-established in these cases. When the unit goes flashing red, WU does not get its data either and a 'ping' to its IP address yields no response.

Hello John H,

Are you able to provide a download of the CSV file for these dates and times. You can post them here in the thread so we can take a look at them. Please list the specific dates and times this is occurring. What is the name brand of the batteries you are using in the Access? Have you tested the batteries to make sure they have voltage? If you were to try new batteries do you get the same result?

I have been having a similar problem.  I have a 5n1 and a couple of temp/humidity sensors reporting through an access hub.  I had a router reboot that caused the access to stop reporting (flashing red) for several hours.  I finally got access reconnected and reporting to both myacurite and weather underground.

Later, myacurite started listing my sensors as offline but data to weather underground continued.  I did everything that I could think of to get myacurite going to no avail.  I went so far as to delete everything from myacurite and set it up again.

Access is connected to an Archer TPlink C9 router which is connected via an ARRIS modem connected to Spectrum.

Following is data from browsing to the access IP address:

Hello David,
Thank you for providing this information. What is the blue light in the front and the amber and green lights on the back doing? Please power cycle your Access and router. To do this, you will unplug your Ethernet cable from the router then the adapter for the Access, also please remove batteries. After this you can unplug your router. Please leave them unplugged for about 5 minutes. When you plug them back in plug the router in first and let it completely boot up, then you can plug the Ethernet cable into the router after that the adapter for the Access. Please wait 15 minutes before trying to add the Access to the account again. Please let us know if the issue continues. Thank you.

Rachell, Thanks.  I've been too busy lately to go through the reset process but I will keep it in mind for the future.  Lately, the sensors on myacurite have been showing as good (green) most of the time.  Occasionally (once or twice per day) I have noticed them offline (red) for an hour or so.  Any time that I have looked, the front light has been a steady blue, and the rear lights have been a steady yellow and a blinking green.  I'll try to remember to check the lights the next time I see the offline indicators.

The other aspect of this that has me perplexed is the time zone question that I raised in another thread.  When myacurite shows sensor status as green, the current temperature and wind are tracking reasonably well with my local display.  Those termperatures won't show up on the charts for another 3 hours.  Is that something that going through the reset process is likely to fix?
