My model number is 01534DI and is less than 2 weeks old. The humidity has never worked properly. The outside stays at 99% I have new batteries and have reset the thing at least twice. I am very disappointed the the product thus far. I have been on hold for almost an hour trying to talk with someone about the problem.

Hello Darrel,

We are sorry that you were not able to get through to us. If you are getting a 99% reading we would recommend a hard reset. Please perform the steps in the order in which they are listed. When you are performing these steps make sure both your display and sensor are at least 3 feet from electronics such as televisions, microwaves, computers & radios.

Perform a hard reset:

  1. Bring both the sensor and display unit indoors side by side.
  2. Remove batteries from the sensor.
  3. Remove batteries from the display unit and unplug the AC adapter (if applicable).
  4. Wait 1 minute to ensure any remaining battery power is discharged from both units.
  5. Change the A-B-C channel on both the display and sensor making sure they both match
  6. Reinstall batteries in outdoor sensor first.
  7. Reinstall batteries in display unit second.
  8. Let the units sit within a couple feet of each other for 20 minutes to ensure a wireless signal is received.
    * The display should receive the signal within several minutes.
  9. After a connection has been established you may place the sensor outdoors.
*If the signal connection fails after the units are separated try a new or different location for the display unit, the sensor or both.
If this does not correct the problem, please let us know. Thank you. Enjoy your day!

I have same issue w/ outside humidity reading 99% for the last couple of weeks. 5n1 sensor is new type w/ replaceable temp sensor. I have made sure batteries are new Duracell alkaline, fan runs OK and have done full reset procedure, including channel switch from default B to C. Have 5n1 sensor inside next to display. Both read 79F, but inside humidity reads 42% and 5n1 outside humidity reads 99%. Date code on temp sensor board PSVN4B01 is 20150507. Bought this from Lowe's last November; should still be under warranty.

Hello Tim W,

What is the model number listed on the bottom of the sensor next to the battery compartment?  Have you tried the troubleshooting steps listed above exactly?  Thank you.

The 5n1 model number is VN1TXCA1. I have done steps 1-9 of the hard reset 2 times. Outside Humidity still reads 99% only, even when inside my house with A.C. on. See attached photo.
