My 5 in 1 weather station continues to go off line

My 5 in 1 weather station keep going off line. Other devices, temp and humidity sensor are reporting.  May be off line for days and then suddenly come back on line. Weather station is within range of the bridge and reports once in a while. Seem to be a piece of junk that you can't depend on.  Had less than a year and does not perform consstantly.  Now they want us to invest more money on a new bridge.

Hello Dale,

Is this sensor connected to a display? If so does it maintain a connection to the display? We can see that all sensors are connected, and it appears to be just the five in one that is losing connection. How far is the sensor from the smartHUB? What type of construction material is the house made of? Are there any low E windows in the house?

I can't answer some of your question till May. Yes we have low e windows. The house is made of brick. The 5-1 is about 50 feet away. I have two temp/humidity sensors attached and they remain on line most of the time when the weather station goes off line.

I have the same problem. I just changed my bridge to the new Access, it was working great for a couple days and now my 5 in 1is not reporting to the bridge. I have 3 other sensors that are reporting just fine.

Hello Rick,
I can see your 5in1 sensor is currently updating on My AcuRite. Your alerts have been cleared but looking at your charts, there was not a noticeable disconnection. Does this issue continue?

Everything has been good since I changed my hub to the Access hub. It didn't work good until I added it My Acurite and then 'shared' it on My Acurite to WU. You folks really need to emphasize the fact that this needs to be done. I don't remember reading any instructions telling me to do that. It'll save you complaints. I really like the Access as I believe it is reporting more consistent and more often. BTW, thanks for asking.

I can't even get my new Access to connnect to MyAcurite. It keeps saying "Device must be connected and reporting data to claim. Please make sure the device is connected to your router and the status lights are blinking." Had a ticket open with Acurite since I bought it and they can't figure it out either.

Rick, just my point. I do not want to spend any more money on something that is not dependable nor working properly. There is some sort of issue here since sometimes it shows up as a great signal then the next time as poor or offline not reporting. It may be off-line for days and the next time you look its back on line.

My 5in1 is has been doing the same thing. Shows as great signal and later in the day, shows a weak signal or goes offline completely. Several hours later, all is back to normal with no intervention on my part. Smarthub running along he Access has zero problems. There is a problem with the reliability of the Access. I won't hold my breath for a fix though.

I was going to wait for the rollout of the Atlas, but that's not likely. I will go with a different company. Seems every time Acurite comes out with something new, there are problems.Getting tired of troubleshooting their products.

Hello Dale,
I can see the 5in1 continues to go offline. Where do you have your smartHUB placed? Is it within 3 feet of any major electronics, router included? If so, please pull the HUB away from the router as much as your Ethernet cable will allow you and in the direction of the sensor if possible.  Leave the smartHUB in the new location for at least 48 hours. This will allow the signal strength to update on My AcuRite.  Have you always had this issue? Low E windows can decrease the signal strength between the HUB and sensor up to 100%.

Impact of Building Materials on Wireless Signal Strength
Glass Decrease up to 15%
Plastic Decrease up to 15%
Brick Decrease up to 40%
Wood Decrease up to 40%
Concrete Decrease up to 80%
Metal Decrease up to 100%

Hello Paul,
Looking at your account, I do not see a disconnection for quite awhile. Does this issue continue?

Can tell much until we get home in May, but my hub is in a room with large patio doors and connected with ethernet cable to the router. It is within 5 feet of the patio doors which are eglass but full length windows and the 5 in 1 a mere 25 feet from the house. I am hoping that installing the new hub, new batteries in the 5 and 1 unit, and re-syncing will solve the problem but time will tell. I will follow up here in late April or May.
I think I have always had this problem from day 1. It looks like its been off line now for several days.

I gave up on my 5 in 1 display and no longer use it. I had the same issues and since I bought it on ebay, AcuRite won't support it, even though it was brand new. I mistakenly purchased the new "Access" hub and that STILL does not connect to their servers so I can replace my old AcuRite hub through myacurite.com. I keep being told it is being worked on. for months now.
