Mounting installation problems

During installation of my Model 02064 weather station to the round mounting post, the two itty bitty screws provided walked in the hole and fell two stories. I couldn't find them and substituted two other screws. Unfortunately, the holes got butchered. I have two questions 1) Can I buy another mounting post from you? 2) Would you suggest that I drill a pilot hole beforehand and what type of screws should I use?

Any self-tapping screw of about the right size will work.  Just find a couple that are a bit larger than the holes in the sensor's mounting piece.  Note that  the screws and holes are not quite the same size...one is slightly larger than the other (at least mine were like that).  But if you get 2 of the same size screws that will fit the largest hole, you can screw them both in with no problem.

Hi Roy,

Harold's suggestions are spot-on.  A replacement mounting post can be ordered from this link:  http://www.acurite.com/5-in-1-sensor-replacement-mounting-bracket-5n1mb.html?___SID=U

Have a great day!
