Moon Phase Icon on brand new 00510SB station has disappeared - June 2017

I just purchased my 00510SB weather station at Lowes. Within 6 weeks, my moon phase icon has disappeared. The square star border appears, but no moon. Solutions?

Hello  Doug,
In the battery compartment you will see a white sticker that reads QC with 4 numbers. Can you please tell me what these 4 numbers are? What kind of batteries are you using? Please make sure you are using a high quality alkaline battery and try to reset the display by removing all batteries for 5 minutes and then reinstalling them. We would recommend batteries such as Duracell coppertop, energizer alkaline, Rayovac, and Kirkland's If this does not correct your issue please let us know. Thank you.

Hi - I am at wits end. I have gone through 10 batteries now. I usually don't make it out of the 14-day "learning" mode before the batteries are dead. Most recently, I bought 10-year alkalines...put them in on July 30th and they're at 50% 10 days later.  Are you experiencing similar issues with this model or did I get a bad one?  What should I do?

Each time I put in new batteries, I wait at least 5 minutes per your earlier suggestion and have used Duracell, Energizer and Ray-O-Vac.

Hello Doug,

Is it just the display that is draining the batteries or the sensor as well?  When you put in the new batteries do you get the moon phase at that point? How long have you had the weather station, and where was it purchased?

I don't know the answer to your question. The batteries in the sensor have not been an issue, just those in the main unit. But, I don't know if the unit or the sensor is the problem. One of them is. The moon phase has been appearing, so that's no longer an issue...it's purely the battery problem now. I purchased it at the beginning of this summer at Lowes.
