Model 02064 rain gauge not working right.

Model 02064 rain gauge is being activated by wind producing flase readings to the tune of 3-4" of rainfail but there wasnt

It sounds like the wind is making your 5n1 sway.  This can cause the rain buckets to tip, registering "phantom rain".

The typical fix is to make your mounting more rigid.  If it's mounted on a pole, you may need to use guy wires.

I thought that was the case, so I upgraded it's mount and am confident it is completely rigid. But still no luck. It's acting like the wind is entering the rain chamber and causing a flapping noise.

Try flushing with warm water if you are in a freezing climate

causing flapping noise or CLICKING noise? If clicking then it has to do with the release.  That may be stuck,

Hello Michael,

If the wind moves the tipping levers the smallest amount it will register rain. We recommend people attach guy wires to their sensors to prevent this from happening if they are getting false rain detection.
